This small inauspicious fish restaurant is fast gaining nationwide recognition as one of the best and most exciting places to eat in Scotland. With a superb location & stunning sea views on the upper floor of the Calmac building on Tobermory pier, and their own fishing boat landing fresh local shellfish - its an experience not to be missed. Just turn up unannounced for lunch, but book in advance for dinner. Lots on offer for non fish eaters too.

Excellent food

Asian female server needs to go but food was fantastic. Server was young, immature and fake, could have cared less what you ordered, not attentive at all for service but hats off to the cooks. We ate at Cafe Fish last night and it was amazing! The fish couldn't be any fresher. We had scallops, mussels, and all sorts of fish in my fish tom yam! The service was excellent, very friendly and efficient waiting staff. Background music was just right. Lovely views of the harbour. All in all a great restaurant, we were very... More

Living on past reputation. Could not fault the freshness of the scallops but the aggressive Chinese waitress who insisted a requested table was booked having been told at lunch time no tables could be reserved, made what should have been a happy occasion a poor evening. Another waitress almost threw the bill on the table when we complained about the... More

We had a lovely meal here last week. The restaurant is in a lovely setting overlooking the sea and is very very popular. Booking is essential - we were very lucky to get at table at 5:30 on a Monday evening! The menu is as you would expect very fish based (although I think there were a couple of non-fish... More

We ate here on Saturday having read previous reviews and was not disappointed. Each of us had a different meal and they all looked delicious - I took the haddock which was excellent. Also, others recommended the Mussels and the Scallops. Staff were very attentive. Nice cosy surroundings. Sharing platter looked amazing - try if you dare!

What an amazing place. Booked table whilst on ferry from mainland, couldn't have been more helpful. Son's 21st birthday so he was offered a free glass of fizz on arrival. Lovely touch. My son is a chef and remarked on arrival that he couldn't smell fish - a sure sign that fish was fresh as a daisy. Waiter took my... More

What a great meal served by a great team and using the finest freshly caught fish from their own boat that day. If it isn't caught they don't use yesterdays catch. The surroundings are different but the view from the first floor restaurant over the beautiful harbour is a delight.

My gripe is the 2 young men who were waiting on the tables, yes it was a busy Monday lunchtime, but they both gave you the impression that they were doing you a favour, one had long hair he should have tied back as he was playing with it too much to be hygienic in my opinion. The other had... More

Lovely, friendly, unpretentious fish restaurant with an extensive menu. I had the fish pie which was delicious and luxurious and hubby had Taste of Mull seafood dish which he really enjoyed. Staff are friendly and helpful and we would definitely go back. Venue is in fantastic position for dolphin watching too.

Situated on the first floor, the restaurant has a super view over the picturesque harbour at Tobermory. It is essential to book and when we got there for dinner it was clear why - the place was full. Our table was one of the few which was fairly quietly situated. Service was fairly slow. The fish is landed right below... More
