This place has got it just right especially for families. With lunch time options of baked potatoes, soups, pan inis, toasties, sandwiches all at a reasonable price. Follow that with a good range of cakes and it is all good value. Young staff try their best and are very pleasant. Free parking or just a short walk out of the... More

We loved going back to the Woodland Centre in the grounds of the amazing Lews Castle. It is a two storey facility and has toilets. They serve hot/cold beverages, basic meals, lots of homemade cakes and the usual snacks. Licensed. Very children friendly. It seems to be popular with locals and tourists alike. Wheelchair accessible, and in fact we noticed... More

When I arrived at 12 midday, the staff were not helpful but the food was good (but took some time to come out). Arriving when the 'rush hour' had finished completely changed the place. The staff had time to chat and the food was as good as ever for the establishment. Worth a visit :)

Good place to go for coffee or a bite to eat. Fresh cakes and nice coffee. Sometimes it gets very busy and parking is an issue. Would be nice to have a kids play park outside.

An absolutely wonderful setting, visited here on what we were told was one of the hottest days of the year for Stornaway. Sat outside to have our lunch. I had the ham and pineapple salad which was lovely. And a walk round the castle gardens afterwards.

Good food and good friendly and courteous staff, and well priced, service could be quicker? I now get the impression everybody is cutting back on staff in the Highlands and Islands, so be prepared to wait a little before your food arrives. Overall well worth a visit.

Visited on a very wet day and grateful for the car parking right at the door, although was tricky to find in the Lews Castle grounds as the sign for Woodlands Centre wasn't very obvious. Loved the children's platter, perfect size and great price at £2. Soup was delicious, as were the fish and chips and the scones were freshly... More

We always love to come here for lunch. Guaranteed to have freshly prepared good food. Nothing exotic just soups, sandwiches, baked potato etc. Fabulous surroundings, great for a long or a short walk.

I have regular business at Lews Castle College and this restaurant in its grounds is a real discovery. It provides a really good lunchtime menu in pleasant surroundings. On my most recent visit a few weeks ago, I chose a seafood salad. It was enticing with crisp fresh lettuce, and a superb range of fresh and smoked seafood produce, taking... More
