the Thai Café is a really lovely rest. on Church Street in Sty. It does not have a licence but you are very welcome to bring your own beer or wine, small corkage fee charged. food is fab and good selection of fish , shellfish, chicken, pork, beef dishes etc.

Whether it is to sit in or for a takeaway, the food is always top notch. Great choice of starters and main courses, this restaurant was a massive addition for dining in Stornoway.

Sadly, my experience here was dreadful! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We were not greeted at the door, but had to walk over to the counter where there were 3 girls "working". More like chatting. We didn't book, and received the only table they had. A group of three came in after us and... More

Have eaten here a number of times and quite an enjoyable experiance. The food is fairly good but not very exciting as the menu has not changed for many years and puts you off a regular return visit. The waiting staff are very young and can be offputting that they are having meals at an adjoining table during normal service... More

Not a fancy place, but we were surprised by the quality, authenticity, and good value of the food! Lots of meat/fish in the dishes, to the point that we wondered if, given the location, vegetables are the more costly ingredients?

Been to this BYO restaurant quite a few times and it has never disappointed us. Service was great. We had a mixed starter for two and it was plentiful and delicious. Can't remember exactly what we had for the main course but it was fantastic. Staff are friendly and nothing too much trouble. The only negative is that when we... More

Went here with my partner for a nice romantic meal. The food was lovely, the service was very good. The only thing which put a downer on it a little, was where we were seated, right beside the counter! Its a very busy restaurant for TakeAways,so we were fed up listening to the phone ringing non-stop,and I had my back to the door, and constantly got... More

Turned up on speck and, even though they were busy, they managed to accommodate us. The service was excellent! The mixed starters were amazing - we really didn't need to order so much for main course. The food was lovely - highly recommended! It's bring your own booze.

We arrived with a party of 8. They coped with us admirably despite us getting torn into the prosecco we procured from the local co-op. Between us we sampled a significant number of the dishes from the menu and no-one was disappointed. They even gave us all individual itemised receipts when we all needed for expenses purposes.

Or should I say sgadan or marag-dhubh. This must be the only place in Stornoway not to have that local delicacy "black pudding" on the menu. Even in Glasgow I can't escape Stornoway Black Pudding, served with every combination under the sun, but never like my màthair used to make. The Thai Cafe gave Stornoway something unique. A genuine Thai... More
