Good but not excellent

This is a nice hotel with some nice, though not exceptional food available. Service can not be faulted, it was quick, professional and very friendly. I had a salmon starter which was nice, and was served on a piece of slate rather than a plate. Perhaps i'm a bit of a philistine, but i find such... read more

I had thier Oysters as a starter three nights in a row. The best Oysters ever. Main courses are excelent as well. Be sure to make a reservation. Before dinner we started with a wee dram in front of the fireplace (we were there in November). This place comes with my highest recomendations.

Family dinner, for about 40. Took over the restaurant. We had excitable noisy 3 year olds running about and thirsty, hungry adults; staff could not have been more friendly and helpful from start to finish. All the food was excellent. From a large group that are not easily pleased, we were absolutely delighted from start to finish. Thanks to you... More

Great menu at reasonable prices. Menu changes regularly. We stayed and ate at the Harbour Inn. Staff were attentive and accommodating. Food was locally sourced and well prepared. Magnificent menu.

This is a more traditional setting - almost "club" like in feel. The views over Loch Indaal make for a relaxing atmosphere. The menu selections were varied and the presentation of the food was excellent. We will definitely return on our next visit to Islay.

Excellent Restaurant - Excellent Bar. This was the best food I ate on Islay - especially good for fish - Gruinart Oysters also superb.

Really welcoming fire in the bar before dinner and a lovely meal on a wet and windy night on Islay. My venison was perfectly cooked

We were served lovely food that was well-presented in a dining room with views of the harbour that gave a wonderful sense of space. This is the kind of place that we could only afford to visit for a special occasion, but the staff were efficient and friendly, and looked after us well.

We booked a meal here one night as it was the only place we could get a table. Its a very nice place and the staff were friendly but the food was very overpriced, £8 for a starter, £28 for a main. The food was ok but I was expecting something special for that price and it wasn't. I don't... More
