My partner and I have just spent the night here and had breakfast. The staff were lovely and very helpful, they helped us organize our whisky distillery tours, we got one of the larger rooms and it had a little terrace with a perfect sea view. The room was gorgeous! We also had a lovely breakfast this morning that was... More

We dined at the Harbour Inn on the recommendation of our landlady on Islay, and she was spot-on. Our starters were based on goats cheese, and asparagus, respectively while the mains were different chicken dishes. The male of the duo had a 25 year-old Bowmore malt and commented "Sheer nectar".

Nice place to eat and stay for enjoying wine and oysters you can ask to serve with wiskey. Stuff is friendly ,the only remark no special stuff for kids like paintings or toys

Re-visited this restaurant recently but now under new ownership. Dinner menu somewhat restricted choice but quality good.Fixed price menu very expensive without choice for each of 3 courses.Excellent location with harbour view extending to Papps of Jura. Friendly & efficient service.Standards overall have slipped from 2/3yrs ago.

The appetizers and drinks to start were wonderful. We had the Bowmore 17 and a Botanist Gin and Tonic to start. Our apps were the scallop ceviche and oysters. The oysters were the best we've had in a long time...so creamy. Those were the highs. The lows were the mains. We had the sirloin steak and the halibut. Forgive my... More

Lunched here, food Ok but plain and a touch dear for what it was, i.e. motorway standard snacks. Prompt service though and excellent views of the bay.

I was thankful to find a place that didn't just offer the basic sandwiches which are so common in the UK (could not have another tuna melt!). The menu is great - modern and fresh. If you want a basic meal/sandwich, go to a cafe. If you want modern fresh food, then go to the Harbour Inn. My sandwich was... More

Yes, the food was good, and the views from both the lounge and the dining room are lovely, but as with most of the restaurants on Islay, it's very expensive and the menu a bit pretentious.

Enjoyed our evening, but venue quite uninspiring. Menu expensive and very limited compared to what website showed previously. Staff didn't seem keen to 'promote' business, as turned diners away, when they weren't full. Exterior of premises in need of attention. Pity they don't have more competition in the area.

I think our expectations of the food here were too high. The bar was without a doubt the best in Bowmore and the staff really friendly. We ate here one night and although the food was ok, we were not that impressed with it.
