Surprisingly good salad

Great view and the food was actually pretty good too. The halloumi starter on a bed of salad greens was really flavorful. The only the thing I would change is to ask for the dressing on the side as there was too much oil and dressing that drowned the salad. I have to say also that the service... read more

What a lovely wee place . Staff very friendly and chatty , made us feel very welcome . We didn't eat here but had a few nice beers . We loved sitting at the window watching the sealife . Breathtaking experience . We are seriously thinking of a weekend at some point in the future here . It has a... More

Had lunch here before a tour round Bowmore distillery, great service, they allowed our dog in the public bar, food was very good and reasonable prices, fairly standard lunch menu but still very good, also did other specials, one of us had mussels, which apparently were delicious, also has one of the biggest ranges of whiskies on the island, and... I was a bit disappointed by this place, given all the great food I'd had on Islay. The food was ok, but nothing special. The views of the water, even on a rainy day, were awesome.

Came for dinner whilst staying in Bowmore over a long weekend. I found the menu somewhat restricted and uninspiring - would have preferred to have seen more local produce, particularly fish. Specials of haggis, neeps and tatties, and mussels were a very welcome addition. I had mussels to start which were plentiful and tasty but the sauce had split. My... More

stayed here before moving on to Jura and found the staff and manager great company - they have a brilliant bar area with an out look over the bay to the south west for lovely sun sets

The food was substandard but my main gripe is the awful accommodation. The room had a terrible aroma akin to blocked drains, the carpet was filthy and stained and the ceiling was terribly low. Not such a bad thing but unable to stand in the shower, which incidentally had a light fitting next to the shower head. I can't say... More

The food is decent, without being too impressive. Service is good, and the seaview is great. The bar has a huge collection of different whiskeys. I would recommend this place but dont have too high expectations.

We had a table overlooking the harbor. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Our waiter was excellent and attentive without being obtrusive.

Waiting for the afternoon flight out of Islay can be taxing, there's not much to do if your driving on arrival back in Glasgow and you are limited to where to eat, however we'd had a few pints during the weekend so ate at the Lochside, traditional Fayre pub lunch, disappointing no Roast dinner offering but the Fish and Chips...
