Having read the two slightly negative reviews I felt it only right and fair to put my review on. As a dog lover and owner it's rare to find such a bar that serves such great food while being welcoming to dogs. I've been 3 times now and while there are a couple of dogs there at any one time... We called last minute on Hogmanay after a let down in a nearby village for family meal and were lucky enough to be able to enjoy a wonderfully cooked meal that the adults and (picky) teenagers loved. Menu was varied and interesting, good selection of wine and a friendly welcome from staff and locals. The desert nearly killed us off... More

Been going to the Cross Keys with family and guests for years because of the excellent food. Each time swear we will not go back because of the many dogs (including the owners' dog) wandering round. They can even be found lying on the bench seats next to other diners. Finally stopped going when dog had "accident" in middle of... More

Took some friends who were visiting from England on a cold wet Sunday at the end of October. The food was fine but it was freezing cold inside the pub. There was a tiny fire in an open grate which didn't give out any heat and the doors were constantly being opened anyway so any warmth went straight outside. The... More

This is a classic Scottish inn offering a warm welcome and a very good Sunday lunch. We had read some of the reviews about the service levels being hit and miss however we were really looked after. The waitresses could not have being more helpful and were smiling all the time. We had two Beef and a Lamb and they... More

A warm cosy pub with open fires. The menu offered a good selection of home produced food at reasonable prices. Our party had duck and home made beef burgers both of which were excellent. The sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I have tasted. The pub is small with a lot of dark wood panelling which makes it... More

Fantastic food, cosy atmosphere - what more could you want on a dreary Sunday afternoon in November. This place is a wee gem and well worth a visit.

Dont miss this pub when traveling near Kippen. Friendly staff and people. Great place to have real Scottish fare. Loads of atmosphere and warmth. Excellent stovies, bangers and mash and beer. Very fairly priced, good sized portions and very relaxing.

We popped in for lunch. A warm welcome from the staff. I ordered the lamb tagine, my partner had the belly pork and my son the pea and ham soup. My tagine was great as was the soup but the belly pork dish was one to give a miss on beans!! Ew! Worth a second visit!
