Stayed here for one night. Really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in the pub. The food was fantastic, really tasty and fresh. Loved that we could have our dog with us. All diners seemed to be enjoying their food too. Breakfast next morning was first class, local produce, lots of choice and freshly cooked Scottish breakfast. Excellent value for money, we... More

All you could ask for in a pub that has top beer, even better food, a beautifully decorated interior, steeped in charm & history and in a great wee village. So friendly with it's open fires when it's cold and stacks of interesting books and pictures on the walls. But to the food - wow! A nice tight menu that... More

Had high hopes after reading previous reviews however I have to agree about the cold, I'd like to eat my dinner with my jacket off. Also the dog that's wandering around...not ideal either. Food wasn't amazing and with the points above we won't be rushing back.

Had lunch for the first time here today. Typical old pub, quite dark with log fires. The food was excellent and served up promptly by a friendly waiter. Unfortunately a large brown dog wandered around the restaurant and at one stage when my wife dropped a chip it was squeezing under the table to get at it. Had to shoo... More

We visited the Cross Keys after going for a lovely walk in Mine Woods, Bridge of Allan. We had all worked up an appetite. Weirdly we all had the same starters and main courses: divine Cullen skink followed by hearty steak pie. Couldn't have wished for more. Lovely atmosphere with the fires and Jessie the dog wandering around and making... More

Good varied menu with some interesting twists on the normal pub style menu. Very friendly surroundings but make sure you are not allergic to dogs.

Having read the two slightly negative reviews I felt it only right and fair to put my review on. As a dog lover and owner it's rare to find such a bar that serves such great food while being welcoming to dogs. I've been 3 times now and while there are a couple of dogs there at any one time... We called last minute on Hogmanay after a let down in a nearby village for family meal and were lucky enough to be able to enjoy a wonderfully cooked meal that the adults and (picky) teenagers loved. Menu was varied and interesting, good selection of wine and a friendly welcome from staff and locals. The desert nearly killed us off... More

Been going to the Cross Keys with family and guests for years because of the excellent food. Each time swear we will not go back because of the many dogs (including the owners' dog) wandering round. They can even be found lying on the bench seats next to other diners. Finally stopped going when dog had "accident" in middle of... More
