We ate dinner at Wildings while visiting nearby Turnberry Resort on a golf vacation. Our group consisted of 24 golfers, hungry after a day of golf. It takes me about an hour to get to this restaurant, but it is well worth the drive. The menu, which contains an excellent selection of dishes, is very reasonable, with three courses costing less than £15 at lunchtime. I decided it was time to pay the restaurant at Wildings Hotel a visit to see for myself what all the fuss was about, so in February 2008 I did just that. Many friends recommended this restaurant so we visited for a 'special meal' last August. The welcome received for a first visit was a disgrace, the service too fast (we had been advised that as young, local staff work in the restaurant, the meal may be rushed) ie starter arrived before we managed to order wine or finish apperitive!
