I have dined at MacCallums, during my annual visit to the area, for the last six or seven years. On this occasion, I was so disappointed. Two of us had Seabass, which was ruined by being very overcooked. Of the two waitresses serving us, one was delightful, the other quite the opposite. Sadly, I don't think I will be returning,... Brilliant. Service great, quality fantastic. Please be advised to book in advance as it is very busy.

Whilst visiting the west coast of Scotland, we decided to visit Troon and noticed this restaurant was highly recommended in 'A Guide To Scotland'. We decided to book a table for two for the Wednesday evening and upon arrival we were surprised to find the restaurant was virtually full. Despite our initial surprise, as the evening progressed, we began to... More

Took a friend here when she came to Ayrshire for a visit, we are both huge seafood fans and found that we couldn't have faulted one thing. Lovely setting down by the harbour and only a small amount of tables so a cosy setting. Lovely friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. And most importantly the seafood was probably... More

Very popular restaurant situated at the fishing port in Troon, Ayrshire. It is quite expensive but food is of a high standard. I wouldn't recommend the whole fish of the day, spent too much time taking out the bones, always go for fillets. The seabass fillets were far more meaty than the whole seabass in any case. There was a really... More

Our evening meal was memorable for the well cooked fresh fish and shellfish. Three excellent courses of delicious food.

Let me start off by saying I dont like fish! I was born in Ayr but now live in England. We came back to see family and my mother in Law tok us to this restaraunt as my daughter and husband love fish. Deciding to try fish again I ordered the monkfish to start and it was lovely. The steak... More

Small venue in the fishing harbour so the fish could not be any fresher. Lovely surroundings in a high vaulted room with lots of interesting memorabilia on the walls. No printed menu with everything displayed on a blackboard makes for a constantly changing menu based on availability. Very friendly and helpful service and good value. Best to book as it... More

Had a meal at the Oyster Bar last week, it was delicious. The food was hot and served well by prompt and efficient waitresses. We had a good selection of wines to choose from and the decor was original and interesting. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here for another meal, Highly recommend it.
