Drove down on a nice sunny day and looked up trip advisor for a nice seafood lunch . Checked out the website for opening times and it stated last orders was at 1430 . Arrived at 1415 to be told they had stopped serving "as the chef was away as it a pay thing !" . There were still about... More

We visit this gem on the pier regularly and have never been disappointed. However, the last time we went I was a bit disappointed to be served supermarket bread and, although I love the place, they could do something more professional than a mobile gas heater. It's a high ceiling and hard to heat but sometimes it's a bit cold.... More

Had lunch here again as we had not been near Troon for two years. MacCallum's delivers every time. The food is cooked to order in what looks like no more than a domestic kitchen. The fish is to the highest, freshest standard and comes direct from their own fishmonger business next door. We treated ourselves to the half lobsters which... More

We decided to pop in here at the last minute for my girlfriends birthday lunch, we had always meant to go as the wee hurrie next door had always been first class. As we entered we were surprised to see how busy it was, we wondered if we could get a table but thankfully there was a couple left( better... More

Took my husband for lunch here for his birthday. Being skinflints we chose from the 2 courses for £11.95 and had mussels to start with which were perfect. I had the scallops and hubby had fish and chips, both delicious. Beers were good - they have Punk IPA which is great. The decor and music was spot on. All in... More

most unlikely place, in a grimy run-down Ayrshire town - between timber dock and fish quay; an old brick building, nothing to look at from outside. a take-away chippie (The Wee Hurrie) with a menu unusually grand for such in Central Scotland. and - with hardly any signs and no external razzmatazz - a tardis, entered through the side door... Enjoyed a fantastic meal at the weekend. Food was amazing and well presented. The Monkfish tempura was amazing albeit I stole a piece from my husband. We both had seabass for main and it was beautifully cooked. Desert was cheesecake which was also fantastic. Cannot wait to go back. Would recommend highly.

We were on a return visit to this fish restaurant located right on the harbour in Troon. The atmosphere was enhanced by the views of the fishing boats coming in for the night. The food is delicious and the staff knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely will be back!
