We were passing through and decided to pop in here for lunch. I was quite disappointed with this visit. I had the pate to start however this was solid and just been taken out the fridge, my main course was a beef and ale pie which was so runny it was like a soup and lacked any real taste. One... More

Since this place has been refurbished a few years ago it's actually quite a nice place to go. A lot better than it's counterpart The Gailes in Irvine.

Thank you for your feedback, SimpsInns fully refurbished The Old Loans Inn a few years ago, and it is an even more popular destination for locals and visitors, whether just eating in the restaurant or enjoying a leisure break in one of our boutique bedrooms. More

First time - and last time visit to this Simpsinns Restaurant. Husband had nice enough steak but I thought one of the 'specials' on the board would be a safe bet. How wrong can you be. Beef Stroganoff - you couldn't chew through the beef - and there's nothing wrong with my teeth!! Staff were apologetic and offered another meal.... More

choice was good you can have 2 courses for 11.95 or three courses for 13.95 good value for money or choose from the main menu which has a bigger selection. portions are very good as well and food and plate piping hot.

Regular eaterie for us and we usually have early bird menu which is excellent value. Being a little later last night we chose from the wider menu and the food was excellent. Busy dining room but staff were attentive and efficient.

As this restaurant is within walking distance of our house this is ideal for a meal out for us as we can also enjoy a nice bottle of wine with no worries about driving home. Although there are other restaurants in Troon that I prefer to eat in The Old Loans Inn is still well worth a visit with good... More

Visiting with friends, we were impressed with the appearance and layout. In other words, it's much the same as the other Simpsinns places. Staff were good. The food was satisfactory. No better than average though, and the prices seemed fair.

Excellent food, good atmosphere, if a little noisy, and reasonable prices. Ok for families and couple. Bit of a squeeze with some of the booth-type seating.
