Being local we go here but sad to say we have had a few bad experiences. The latest on 26th of June 2014. To set picture there were 11 covers in dining room and few more at bar/outside area two front of house staff. We were told to sit where we wanted to,given menus asked what drinks they came and... Thank you for your feedback, I have spoken to our team at the Old Loans Inn regarding your visit. We have procedures in place, on the rare occasion that a guest is not happy with their meal these procedures are followed, which would be to offer a replacement meal and not a re-heated meal. All meals are checked on the... More

I stopped here on business and yes it is a nice, recently refurbished comfortable hotel. The check in was a bit of an issue as no one was on the desk when we arrived, when the receptionist arrived we were swiftly dispatched up to the rooms. My room on the 1st floor was a big and comfortable one with a... More

The meal in itself was nice but waiting an hour between the starter and the main course was to long.

Lovely bar area with open fire and lots of charm, but we found the food expensive for what it delivered. Quality fine, but staff more focussed on restaurant so we had some long waits.

My Fiance and I stayed here on Saturday night as I won a competition via Itison for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. We chose to pay for an extra night too and have a nice relaxing break, we were really excited, I didn't expect to get special treatment but on check in there was no mention of the... More

We ordered smoked salmon open sandwiches, which although very nice, were in my opinion, Gavlax rather than traditional smoked salmon, not the same by a long way. It was well presented. £5.05 for 175ml mediocre Pino Grigio is excessive.

Thank you for your feedback, please be assured that this is not our normal service. I have spoken to our managers and team who were on duty at this time, as this should not have happened. I am surprised that the team member in question behaved in that way and we have addressed how their actions were interpreted by the... More
