A set menu with only two choices for main course. The other courses apart from pudding are take it or leave it. The main course is small, no vegetables and style over substance. I'm not looking for massive portions and yes I understand presentation but when does presentation override everything? Could I eat in this restaurant in the hotel all... More

Food was awful, overpriced and completely bored by the incessant need to describe every morsel of food on the plate before you are allowed to eat it. Credit us with some sense, we can read a menu we don't need to be read war and peace before we eat it

Thank you for your review. So pleased you enjoyed the room and location. You do appear to have a problem with the restaurant service which we understand will not be to everyone's liking. However, if it meant that much to you or you had to do was politely ask the team to refrain from their short explanations as you were... More

We stayed at the hotel almost 19 years ago and paid a visit to the restaurant (mid-winter both times) less than a year ago. Retains an element of artificial class and fine dining which is below par when compared with spanish, italian or french equivalents. Overdressed, cute, rediscovering 'mediterranean of the north'. Very suitable for romantic liaisons or escapades. The... More

I have to confess to loving high tea as a meal and so I've been on a number of them. This is a lovely spot and a fabulous hotel and restaurant. We had high tea in the library for a special occasion and I would recommend it. Tartan decor, tucked away so good for the kids, close to the whisky... More

Fresh products, right balance between classic and inventive, good choice considering the remoteness of the place, efficient service.

The dinner was superb! The chef knows exactly what he's doing with top-notch home grown veg and locally sourced fish and meat . The scotch egg canapé was delightful, the velouté superb, the hake and lamb delectable and the dessert scrumptious. Every dish was beautiful on the plate with great garnishes and flavour. Divine food! This should be a 5... More

We went to Torridon in May this year and stayed in a holiday cottage in the small village of Alligen on the north shore of the Loch. We visited the Hotel for our evening meal and heard that it was a very good restraint with three rosettes from the AA. On arrival we were greeted by the assistant manager Ross,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our honeymoon. Stunning location, great room, nice to have the option of restaurant or sister pub for food. It was a little tight to be charged the full £55 for eating one course of the 5 course set restaurant menu but there you go, still a great experience. Staff fabulous
