Ordered a double cheeseburger, got a bun with 2 frozen patties and chesp cheese, no ketchup, mustard, salad, tomato or anything. Keep away! Friend was even worse.

Since most restaurants in Fort Augustus close by 20:00 in summer, we had no choice but to eat at The Moorings. We were skeptical at first but I have to say that the food was very tasty with huge portions. We ordered the fish & chips and kabobs and ate outside on the picnic tables since their dining room was... More

This place has it going on. Haddock Fish and Chips for 10 UK pounds, which includes salad, peas, fries, red cabbage and carrots. It's a platter. Excellent service even though I was among a group 10 or 12 tourists. Clean, and clean smelling, we enjoyed eating here very much. Sorry for the negative reviews listed earlier, but our experience was... More

Basically a takeaway with tables, totally disinterested waitresses, we felt we were imposing on them.... waiter no better, food not as expected, we ordered shish kebabs and what turned up were two plates of frozen chips scattered with over cooked cheap frying beef( I hope) pickled chilli from a jar, a dismal salad and absolutely tasteless sauce all at a... we ate here as a family and it was pretty bad. As soon as the waiter struggled to show interest at the point we walked into an empty place we should have got the message. my macaroni cheese was awful with rubbery pasta and cheese sauce that was stringy. The only reason I have not given it terrible for food... More

Spaghetti Bolognese and Scampi were both good. Male waiters have limited English but with patience understood our needs and added a salad at no cost. Young female staff were local and helpful. Reasonable cost for what is really a cafeteria type restaurant.

This is essentially a chip shop with a seating area and extended menu. That being said the food was nice enough, although overpriced but that was mainly down to the tourist trap that it is. My main issue was the service. Both men that I dealt with were unpleasant and did not even respond when I spoke to them. The... More

Well I am surprised by the other reviews because we had a family meal here and it was first rate. We had excellent choice at a reasonable rate and the service was both fast and the service was warm and friendly. We had as a family a variety of meals and were all surprised by the high standard of the... More

Ordered take away food here during our visit to see Loch Ness. My husband had the fish and chips, my daughter and I had cheeseburgers. My husband's meal was OK, but the burgers that my daughter and I had were inedible. Definitely not 100% meat. Tasted like alot of soy or other additive was mixed in. Ended up throwing both... More
