This is essentially a chip shop with a seating area and extended menu. That being said the food was nice enough, although overpriced but that was mainly down to the tourist trap that it is. My main issue was the service. Both men that I dealt with were unpleasant and did not even respond when I spoke to them. The... More

Well I am surprised by the other reviews because we had a family meal here and it was first rate. We had excellent choice at a reasonable rate and the service was both fast and the service was warm and friendly. We had as a family a variety of meals and were all surprised by the high standard of the... More

Ordered take away food here during our visit to see Loch Ness. My husband had the fish and chips, my daughter and I had cheeseburgers. My husband's meal was OK, but the burgers that my daughter and I had were inedible. Definitely not 100% meat. Tasted like alot of soy or other additive was mixed in. Ended up throwing both... More

On that note the food was OK but I found the prices higher than average. However it is in tourist trap area. If I ever go back to Fort Augustus future I would be more than happy to revisit, however next time it will be a take-away.

I had been hill walking and was looking for some quick solid food. I ordered lasagne, which came quite promptly and was very tasty. The chips were nice too. It is certainly nothing fancy, but seemed to attract a general cross-section of people who all seemed to be content. The waiter was a bit disinterested, and didn't ask if I... More

Customer service should come first it costs nothing for manners and makes such a difference if wanting repeat business. Sadly at The Moorings this is lacking to the point of staff being rude. We ordered a take away during our weeks stay at Fort Augustus and it was as if the man who took the order had been inconvenienced! Nearly... More

Calling in here on way back from Inverness we were greeted with a rather miserable waiter . We ordered food and he gave no response whatsoever , he tutted when we asked for straw for our drinks . Food was fresh and quite nice . Asked if we could box the left over pizza the waiter walked away and came... More

Having dogs limits you so sat outside where people seem to smoke and drink while waiting for takeaway, our choice. Food was ok, waitress was very nice.

Had a quick dinner here one evening. Food was not that great, service quite poor. My daughter enjoyed the Pizza, I had a burger, not good. Seafood pasta was OK.
