Immediately we entered the place, before we'd closed the door, we were accosted by the waitress askig what we wanted. Considering we hadn't even seen the menu she was rather premature. Having said we'd like to get settled first and having got seated we asked for the menu. It didn't have anything listed that was suitable so we asked if... More

Visited Fort Augustus on a Monday in February and this appeared to be the only cafe open. It was advertised as being family friendly, definitely not friendly, the waiter was surly, and we felt as if we shouldn't be there. Whilst we were eating he leaned over both of us to remove a bottle of tomato sauce, didn't t say... More

It's overpriced, even though we expected things to be expensive in such a touristic place, really, the food was hardly even ok for that price. Then there's the staff... we felt like we were such a pain for them, not a smile, not a word. We waited about 25 minutes for our food to arrive, and people who arrived after... More

Staff not friendly at all, was as if we were troubling them being there (dispite us spending nearly £30) waiter hardly spoke, never asked us if everything was okay with our meal. Hummus was really nice for starter. My boyfriend had chicken kebab which was okay. I had roast chicken, chips, gravy and veg. The chicken was tiny, very very... More

there are less bad tourist traps in this southern end of Loch Ness where all the tourists busses end up. do yourself a favor and buy some snacks or packaged sandwiches from the markets nearby and avoid this place at all costs the service: horrible. there were people seated after us who got their food, finished and left the restaurant... The staff at this restaurant were very miserable and the need to learn some basic human manners. The food was average at best and the menu whilst extensive was quite pricey. Avoid at all costs. I feel the reason the staff can be so arrogant, one, middle age non British waiter in particular was extremely rude to customers that I... More

Had lunch whilst staying at the Lovat Hotel on Boxing day. For a small cafe the was a varied menu. The Jacket potato with chilli I had was hot and tasty washed done with a nice pint of Stella. Lovely views across the canal. Can get very busy with tourist coaches.

Our expectations were not high based upon the appearance of the place, but it has an excellent location and the prices were quite reasonable for lunch and there were limited other options as it was during slack season. We ordered sandwiches, a baked potato, and a burger. We were some of the only patrons in the restaurant and they had... More

My husband and I ordered 2 meals and they came reasonably quickly and were tasty. We were the only patrons at the time so that probably helped. The food was a bit pricey but you have to expect that with it being the only place open in town.
