Good food, fair service

We were on a pretty short lunch break and this is the first restaurant we found. Pretty empty when we arrived so service was quick but not exactly attentive and helpful. Salads and sandwich okay. By the time we left, completely full and obviously very slow service so be aware if in a hurry. On... read more

Stopped for a few hours in Augustus and stopped here as it was by the water and had oitside seating in the sun. My partner sat outside and I went in to order--realised it was what appeared to be a chip shop cafe. It did not look great, but I saw they did cake and coffee so thought it would... More

Meanest, stingiest little tuna mayonnaise sandwich I've encountered in my many years of traveling and eating tuna salad (as Yanks call them) sandwiches. We were obviously in a hurry as we were scheduled to take a loch tour and the two sandwiches sat in the pass for a minute where we tried to bring it to the attention of the... More

We wanted somewhere that wouldn't slow us down on a road trip, and this looked like it would fit the bill. Pros: service was quick, portions were good, and prices were reasonable. Cons: not exactly haute cuisine, and the staff seemed remarkably disinterested (although not impolite). Okay if you want a family-friendly place for a quick eat-and-run.

This is probably the WORST, by far, place in which I have ever eaten in my entire life. I could not stop freaking out watching the cocky attitude of rude so-called waiter, comfronting a lady who asked him to change her bread for a slice of bread with no butter (he asked her if she had previously especifically requested it.... Stopped for lunch, served straight away by a pleasant waitress .Had scampi and chips, quite nice lush chips and plenty of scampi. My other half had roast chicken and baked potato, only to find it was half a chicken. She couldn't manage it all and commented the gravy was lush. Lovely views, can get busy seems popular.

Went for supper here as just wanted something light.Really poor, and £6.95 for an allegedly baked potato that was obviously microwaved, hot in places ,cold in places with horrible mushy tuna out of order.husband had spaghetti bolognese, microwaved, with cucumber.no Parmesan as had run out, citing its Sunday as an excuse.if you like cheap quality food microwaved or deep fried, this is your place.when waiter took... Both my partner and i had macaroni, chips and salad, it was quite nice, to be honest though service could be better, the staff were certainly not welcoming. pleasant canal/lockside location.

Stopped off here to grab some chips and cheese before our cruise loch ness tour. The service is top notch and the food is amazing. Didnt have ling to wait and was made fresh there and then. It is a good place to sit in as you get great views of the loch.
