Basic, no fuss

Had a family meal here and it was nice enough but nothing out of the average.... Couldn't fault the hospitality, food was basic menu which is great with fussy kids, didn't get to much food and the pudding, was really small for just under a fiver......really not worth it at all and it didn't come... read more

Takeaway style food but served in a nice indoor café. Pizzas were huge and really nice. Great option to take kids to as they will love everything on the menu!

We went there during our day trip at Loch Ness. Overall the food was ok and I really liked the smoked salmon salad that I had as starter. Then I tried the baked potato with haggis that was nice and served with some salad. The negative aspect of the lunch was for sure the service. In my opinion one of... More

I hadn't been to Loch Ness for over 30 years and my uncle suggested a visit to Fort Augustus. Walked around the local craft shops which were very good and we decided to stop for lunch. We could have gone either to the Moorings or The Boathouse on the other side of the canal, but we choose the Moorings as... More

Immediately we entered the place, before we'd closed the door, we were accosted by the waitress askig what we wanted. Considering we hadn't even seen the menu she was rather premature. Having said we'd like to get settled first and having got seated we asked for the menu. It didn't have anything listed that was suitable so we asked if... More

Visited Fort Augustus on a Monday in February and this appeared to be the only cafe open. It was advertised as being family friendly, definitely not friendly, the waiter was surly, and we felt as if we shouldn't be there. Whilst we were eating he leaned over both of us to remove a bottle of tomato sauce, didn't t say... More

It's overpriced, even though we expected things to be expensive in such a touristic place, really, the food was hardly even ok for that price. Then there's the staff... we felt like we were such a pain for them, not a smile, not a word. We waited about 25 minutes for our food to arrive, and people who arrived after... More
