Basic, no fuss

Had a family meal here and it was nice enough but nothing out of the average.... Couldn't fault the hospitality, food was basic menu which is great with fussy kids, didn't get to much food and the pudding, was really small for just under a fiver......really not worth it at all and it didn't come... read more

There are two chippers in Fort Augustus and we tried both of them, however my wife and daughter liked the chips from the Moorings. It is on the left side of the Caledonian Canal opposite the Highland Club Abbey. The chips, fish ETC. are really tasty. It is not run by Scottish, just like Chippers in Ireland are usually run... In hurry, take away. But if you can spend some time, take a table and try some suggestions. The pizza were also really good. It looks like a tourist trap, it was the only table available in the village, and it was a really good surprise. Good job chef.

What a mistake it was to come here! The staff were reluctant to let us have a table for drinks mid-afternoon, despite there being plenty of space. Their surly behaviour continued throughout our stop here. The latte was disgusting and not even drinkable - they were clearly reusing coffee that had already gone through the coffee machine. Given that the... More

Might look like a local chippy but the food is amazing. The seafood platter is wonderful. The mixed kebab is so much food. They make you feel so welcome and if there is something they can do for you they will. I have had three main meals from them and will definitely be going back for more.

Not very friendly service and very expensive cup of tea and cake. A really wouldn't bother going here there are other pubs in fort Augustus that you could go to which are nicer.

Stopped for a family meal. We all had different things (Pizza, Baked Potato, Burger, Bread and Butter). They were all awful (except the last one, which was nothing special). It was really expensive and spoilt our first day in Scotland. We think the menu was too big, so they just couldn't manage. Better a smaller menu and better quality.

We headed to this cafe after doing the Loch Ness cruise. We thought it was a fish & chip restaurant but they had quite a lot of choice on the menu. That was the only good thing about this cafe. I felt so sorry for our waitress as she looked so miserable working there. We ordered fish & chips which... More

I had a kebab to takeaway here. The portion was generous, price is reasonable, it was 8 out of 10. I did get chips with kebab, what I did not expect, would have been without it, but apart from that it was ok.

Takeaway style food but served in a nice indoor café. Pizzas were huge and really nice. Great option to take kids to as they will love everything on the menu!
