The restaurant is pretty nice and appears to be upper scale; this is especially evident in the food choices. I didn't feel like there were very many choices in entrees and ended up trying the broccoli risotto. It wasn't impressive to say the least. The sticky toffee pudding was very good though! The Lovat also serves very good alcoholic beverages... More

Very good food, very good service. Can you do a boot camp for staff of some other local establishments?

This is a great place for lunch or dinner in Fort Augustus, really well prepared fresh food. Haggis Bon Bon's are recommended!

We visited the brasserie when staying in Fort Augustus at the beginning of October. The food was presented very nicely and was really tasty. The service was good and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. I thought it was missing something to make it excellent which I was expecting from the prices. This may have been the plain tables and... More

We had a delicious meal. This is not pub grub but well presented and perfectly cooked food. Service is excellent and the room has a good atmosphere.

We were two couples and we were staying at The Lovat hotel. On a Saturday night, we went for dinner to their brasserie and we really enjoyed it. We all ordered a starter, a main and a dessert and for every course, we selected four different options (so that we could try lots of different fresh products from the highlands).... More

We enjoyed an evening meal at the brasserie restaurant during our minimoon. Both of us really enjoyed our choices, we were also served some beautiful homemade bread and pesto. I had homemade ravioli, ox cheek which melted in the mouth and treacle tart. All of which was full of favour and beautifully cooked. Good range of whisky, ales and gin... More

My family and I booked here as a treat for my birthday on September 11th and all four of us were very pleased with both the food and the service. I had the wild mushroom risotto starter which was a great vegetarian dish - full of flavour; followed by an absolutely fantastic wild venison burger (game being the next best... More

We booked to celebrate my birthday. Everything perfect. Lovely table, fantastic service, and the food! We had cocktails to start which were perfect. The mushroom soup and fresh beetroot salad were full of flavour, the main courses not huge but just enough, the presentation was excellent. We were spoilt for choice with the desserts. The champagne was great too!
