Riding around the area on motorbikes we planned a stop at Durness. We arrived around 1100hrs and spotted the Sango Sands cafe but much to our disappointment it was shut. However, it opened at 1200hrs so being a nice day we went for a short walk. Returning we just beat a bus load in and got served pretty quick. Staff... More

Stopped here for some lunch on trip along North Coast of Scotland. Building is a bit of an eyesore and does not really make best of its location. Basic snack menu - sandwiches, pain is, etc plus some hot meals. Dining room is dark, pub area seems to gave best views. Like most places in Scotland the waiting staff were... More

We were regulars here for dinner/drinks for over a week, as we were based at the campsite next door. The restaurant is set out in a series of diner style booths and offers a range of pub classics and more local fare - lasagne, fish and chips, venison stew, haggis starter, local smoked salmon. The melt-in-your-mouth pork belly deserves special... More

Great food great value great place It's fast and furious big portions , great service with a smile even when really busy. Had to wait 10 mind for a table but sat in the lounge bar with a pint of cider , and a sea view what more can you ask .

As there isn't much choice of eateries in Durness, they could get away with charging a lot more for a lot less, but they don't! Good choice on the menu and they even managed to accommodate me (I'm vegan). Charming, a little bit old fashioned, but this just adds to the character!

We visited the bar for a light lunch on a Sunday afternoon while on a short break in the area. I can't comment on the restaurant but as far as bars go it's fairly clean and spacious. There's live sport on a tv screen which normally puts me right off, but there's plenty of room to escape it if you're... More

We ate here on a Weekend lunchtime. We waited a few minutes for someone to arrive at the bar to serve us, and when we eventually managed to order food, we thought £19 for two bar meals was quite expensive, but if it was good fresh food it would be worth it. It wasn't. There was a long wait, even... More

After reading some of the negative comments on here, decided it's got to be better than cooking in the rain, what a pleasant surprise, service great, yes we had to wait for a table, but didn't wait long, enjoyed a pint while enjoying the view. Decent choice of food considering location, friendly staff. Food came, good size portion and very... More

7 of us on a family day trip to Smoo cave, visited the Oasis for lunch, ordered drinks, which arrived swiftly, 20 mins later I had to remind the waiter that I was still waiting on milk for my tea, food was ordered, 3 kids ordered wraps which came after 30 mins or so, a little dry and curly round... There's little competition in Durness so the restaurant was full. But the food was awful. We had a grilled haddock and lamb shank. Vegetables were tinned peas and carrots. Yuch. Avoid it if you can.
