As there isn't much choice of eateries in Durness, they could get away with charging a lot more for a lot less, but they don't! Good choice on the menu and they even managed to accommodate me (I'm vegan). Charming, a little bit old fashioned, but this just adds to the character!

We visited the bar for a light lunch on a Sunday afternoon while on a short break in the area. I can't comment on the restaurant but as far as bars go it's fairly clean and spacious. There's live sport on a tv screen which normally puts me right off, but there's plenty of room to escape it if you're... More

We ate here on a Weekend lunchtime. We waited a few minutes for someone to arrive at the bar to serve us, and when we eventually managed to order food, we thought £19 for two bar meals was quite expensive, but if it was good fresh food it would be worth it. It wasn't. There was a long wait, even... More

After reading some of the negative comments on here, decided it's got to be better than cooking in the rain, what a pleasant surprise, service great, yes we had to wait for a table, but didn't wait long, enjoyed a pint while enjoying the view. Decent choice of food considering location, friendly staff. Food came, good size portion and very... More

7 of us on a family day trip to Smoo cave, visited the Oasis for lunch, ordered drinks, which arrived swiftly, 20 mins later I had to remind the waiter that I was still waiting on milk for my tea, food was ordered, 3 kids ordered wraps which came after 30 mins or so, a little dry and curly round... There's little competition in Durness so the restaurant was full. But the food was awful. We had a grilled haddock and lamb shank. Vegetables were tinned peas and carrots. Yuch. Avoid it if you can.

The Oasis has such a great location and the service was friendly and quick but the food was a big disappointment. Selection was limited (especially for a vegetarian) and the food was BLAND. When I return to this area, I'll explore other restaurant options.

We were passing through Durness and stopped for a bite to eat. We had not booked so went for the Carry Out. This was quick and a good meal.

We went to Sango Sands Oasis for dinner when we stayed in Durness. The best Pork Belly I have ever tasted. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely atmosphere.

So looking forward to our lunch, however myself and my mum ordered the steak pie-expecting it to be homemade, puff pastry and succulent meat in gravy.....sadly not....it looked like a steak pie you would get from the chippy!! ....it was as tough as 'old boots',no gravy, and as 'dry as a bone'. Greatly disappointed.....on mentioning to the waitress the state of the pie,she... More
