Good Pub Dinner

The Oasis can be quite busy, especially on weekends. Service is good, efficient. Food is good quality pub fare. The Oasis is not fine dining (doesn't pretend to be), but you'll have a nice meal here.

We dropped in just after opening (5 pm) on a Saturday night, expecting a small but mighty happy-hour crowd -- but, we were the first ones there! The Sango Sands bar area is pretty big and is located with spectacular beach and sea views. We perched ourselves on a comfy sofa with our beers and enjoyed a peaceful hour. We... More

As one of the very few in Durness, the camping's restaurant was a pleasant surprise, between the main road and the cliff tops, it offer a clean and quiet dinner location. Despite the first impression when entering in the restaurant, the food was very good, the staff was kind and quick. A must when traveling in this far North remote... More

The Staff were nice though. when asked to have a soup and mains together (one of the group wanted that as a main) they came seperate, then both of... More

While visiting the area and camping nearby for 2 nights,my wife and I went in for a meal . The modest exterior does not do justice to the standard of food and the service.Whatever you expect when you go in ,you will be more than pleasantly surprised. This establishment offers a much higher standard than might be imagined for such a... Riding around the area on motorbikes we planned a stop at Durness. We arrived around 1100hrs and spotted the Sango Sands cafe but much to our disappointment it was shut. However, it opened at 1200hrs so being a nice day we went for a short walk. Returning we just beat a bus load in and got served pretty quick. Staff... More

Stopped here for some lunch on trip along North Coast of Scotland. Building is a bit of an eyesore and does not really make best of its location. Basic snack menu - sandwiches, pain is, etc plus some hot meals. Dining room is dark, pub area seems to gave best views. Like most places in Scotland the waiting staff were... More

We were regulars here for dinner/drinks for over a week, as we were based at the campsite next door. The restaurant is set out in a series of diner style booths and offers a range of pub classics and more local fare - lasagne, fish and chips, venison stew, haggis starter, local smoked salmon. The melt-in-your-mouth pork belly deserves special... More

As there isn't much choice of eateries in Durness, they could get away with charging a lot more for a lot less, but they don't! Good choice on the menu and they even managed to accommodate me (I'm vegan). Charming, a little bit old fashioned, but this just adds to the character!
