5 of us visited when we were staying nearby and it came highly recommended. We all had 3 courses it was a sunday and the menu choices were quite limited. 3 of us ordered sunday roasts for our mains, a beef and 2 lambs and we were all really disappointed with it the meat just wasn't enjoyable and... read more

We were really looking forward to coming here and we're sad to say it just didn't stand up to the hype. Firstly, we could not fault the staff - they were all top notch. We found the lounge and the restaurant cold unless we were directly in front of a fire - both of us had to go back up... More

A little taste of France in rural Perthshire. We have travelled twice to this restaurant to enjoy wonderful food and it's ma round trip of 120 miles. Beautiful ingredients with lots of local game cooked by a chef with a deft and very professional touch make the journey there a joy of anticipation and the journey home a taste reminiscence.

Really nice place with great service. Location is close to Crieff, think we were about £13 by taxi. Food was different and excellent, well presented, and tasted fantastic. Highly recommend.

Myself and partner while visiting Crieff area used Trip Advisor to select our restaurants..... Wow did we hit on a true gem. We would describe ourselves as amateur food critics and not shy at finding faults. However on this occasion it was excellent in all aspects from meet and great through service and the meal. We had the pleasure of... More

We had wanted to try the Barley Bree over New Year on previous visits to Crieff but this was the first time we managed to arrange it. Unfortunately we weren't offered to go into the lounge for drinks or to peruse the menu and were shown straight to our table even though we arrived about 30 minutes early. We were... More

Happy New Year! Sorry about table legs - our dodgy tables need a bit of tlc - and it is a bit challenging sometimes to accommodate larger parties in the space we have. Glad you enjoyed the food and hope to see you again. Hope the dancing was fun! More

Was a exactly a year ago since we dined here and 1 year on it's still as good. Food (esp the Xmas pudding) and service was fantastic.

Pleased we've managed to maintain standards! And the Christmas puddings were flying out the door this year. We must have posted out about 15 in addition to what we sold locally. Hope to see you again in about 11 months. Thank you More

We holiday every year up in Scotland and had passed this restaurant numerous times and each time said we must go and eat there one day. Well this year we actually got there and regretted all the years we could have eaten there and didn't. It is fairly remote being in the middle of Muthill but the quality of food... More

We were in Crieff for a 40th party and decided that on the Friday night we would find a restaurant close by. I booked the Barley Bree after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and I was not disappointed. The menu was varied and the food very tasty. The attention to detail, can put some of the bigger restaurants that... More

Nicely refurbished traditional stone coach house. Pleasant atmosphere throughout the hotel. Cosy room and bathroom well supplied. Excellent menu and good wine served by very attentive and friendly staff. Good advice from Alison, very chalenging nine hole golf course around the corner.
