Always Great Food and Service

I absolutely love this place - great food, great service. I have a fussy vegetarian wife, and the Barley Bree chefs were so accomodating. We always go there when we stay at Gleneagles as an alternative to their restaurants - 20 mins away in a taxi ( £20 each way )

I dined here with my family on Saturday evening. From start to finish our experience was fantastic, although we did have a rather embarrassing time with the card machine - entirely our own fault! Next time we will make sure we remember our pin. The food was superb. Our starters were the perfect size and the duck terrine was delicious.... More

This is a lovely restaurant, the decor just to my taste. The service was friendly and helpful. Although I was surprised that despite being the only two in initially that the next table was filled right beside us with the next diners who arrived. There were plenty other available tables to allow us a little more privacy. The food was... More

another visit to Barley Bree and another good experience. good food and wine and grandaughter well looked after by the attentive staff. we go for special occasions as its a little more expensive than a pub/hotel sunday roast , but the quality of the food is high and worth it.

I often review places I especially like but have never written more than one for the same place. Having eaten at Barley Bree three times, I must say the exquisite presentation and wonderfully thought out and delicious dishes have impressed us again. Slightly unusual ingredients, such as crispy kombu and touches like homemade bread make all the difference. One of... More

we recently stayed at Barley Bree having eaten there before on a couple of occasions whilst staying in nearby Crieff. Our expectations were well and truly met, and more! The staff looked after our every requirement, ensuring the menu was varied, with additional specials to tempt us. The accommodation was perfect, a great base to explore from during the day.

5 of us visited when we were staying nearby and it came highly recommended. We all had 3 courses it was a sunday and the menu choices were quite limited. 3 of us ordered sunday roasts for our mains, a beef and 2 lambs and we were all really disappointed with it the meat just wasn't enjoyable and very fatty... We were really looking forward to coming here and we're sad to say it just didn't stand up to the hype. Firstly, we could not fault the staff - they were all top notch. We found the lounge and the restaurant cold unless we were directly in front of a fire - both of us had to go back up... More

A little taste of France in rural Perthshire. We have travelled twice to this restaurant to enjoy wonderful food and it's ma round trip of 120 miles. Beautiful ingredients with lots of local game cooked by a chef with a deft and very professional touch make the journey there a joy of anticipation and the journey home a taste reminiscence.

Really nice place with great service. Location is close to Crieff, think we were about £13 by taxi. Food was different and excellent, well presented, and tasted fantastic. Highly recommend.
