We had a super birthday lunch with my parents and husband. Quality of food and choice was superior to some of the Edinburgh restaurants we have visited. Innovative use of local produce provided a great choice for each of us, including a specially prepared chutney for one of the party who has diabetes. The quality of the food and choice... More

Attractive setting and seemed newly decorated. The menu was very limited, and could do with more innovation and inspiration as well as a broader choice. It seemed the chef preferred to stick to what he/she knew best. The service was homely i.e. OK but amateurish. The young waitress asked me if the Chenin Blanc I ordered was the white or... More

Chef Lee and his staff all work together to make sure customers have a great dining experience. We have had some superb evenings in this small family style restaurant. Booking in advance is recommended to be sure of getting a table. Menu choice may take some time as there is always a fine selection of dishes. Seafood and game items... More

We just had a great night at Cafe D'Amour. The food is fantastic. We liked the look of the menu so much that we made sure we all chose differently so that we could try as much as possible! None of it was disappointing! The restaurant is pretty, and the staff attentive. This provides a good contrast to other local... More

The town is very very quiet but they have a wonderful restaurant. The chef/owner clearly is too notch. The food is very fresh and the people very friendly.

Very friendly meet and great, we ate in the garden at the rear of the restaurant which was a lovely setting and very peaceful. Extensive menu and wine list, we ate scallops and a salad for starters and haggis for our main with the cheese board for dessert. The food was very well presented, very tasty and good portions and... We discovered this gem of a restaurant. The night we ate there the waitress didn't show up for work so the cooks pulled double duty. The food and service were outstanding none the less.

Stopped off here for lunch based on previous reviews. On opening for lunch, the owner informed us that they were expecting a large party soon but that they would be happy to still take us. From the lunch menu, the French Onion soup was probably the best I have ever tasted and the BBQ pork ribs with accompanying sauce were... More
