Honest food, friendly service

Very elegant little restaurant in the charming town of Aberfeldy. Had a HUGE chicken and bacon sandwich with soup and salad. All washed down with a bottle of Ossian beer. We visited earlier this month and found the restaurant was closed. We spoke to local folk who told us it had been closed for some time and was unlikely to re-open. Pity, as we had good experiences there in the past. I have had to give a rating to the restaurant as the site will not allow posts without reviews.

We booked this Restaurant to celebrate our friends' Birthday. Food and drinks were delicious and attention to detail from staff outstanding. Thank you Claire for organising an excellent night!

We were the first lunchtime customers at 1pm on a cold, damp Saturday. The waitress was very welcoming and sat us next to a heater to warm up. The chef popped out to say hello too. We had the smoked venison starter which was very tasty. I then had the haggis and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the macaroni cheese with... More

Booking is essential for this hidden gem of a French bistro nestled in amongst the shop fronts of Aberfeldy. We managed to combine a visit to the exquisite Art Deco cinema and enjoyed a delicious meal - the haggis is well worth trying. The service was excellent but not overbearing and the shabby chic interior was welcoming. The kitchen staff... More

We visited on wet Friday lunchtime and as previously had a really enjoyable lunch I chose the Venison starter which was sadly off as the daily delivery had not yet arrived. Instead Lee rustled up a different Venison starter which was very tasty. My wife decided to save herself for her main and dessert. She had fish gougons which instead... More

Cafe d'amour was recommended highly by our hotel owner who suggested we book as it was likely to be busy. We didn't need to book, the restaurant was almost empty. The meal and whole experience was distinctly average. Friday, when we visited was 'fish Friday'. Two of us had the haddock which in fairness was pretty good. The sea bass... More

Went with my wife and 2 young daughters. Despite my 2 year old well and truly playing up, we had a really nice time. Lee the owner was an excellent host as always, accomodating small requests to make our meal perfect. Portion sizes are good and never leave feeling hungry. French onion soup was excellent also. This place is highly... More

Really enjoyed the meal here. Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff and great food. When the owner/chef found out that we were in Aberfeldy on our honeymoon, he gave us the champagne jelly pudding on the house! Very romantic! Many thanks!
