Just returned from the most memorable visit to this wonderful restaurant. Where do I start with the list of special points about this place? Firstly and perhaps most importantly the great service, 3 lovely, warm, friendly women providing attentive service and engaging conversation. Secondly the food speaks for itself - a chalk board displaying a wide range of dishes, mainly... More

We booked the POD for an evening, it has a set 7 course menu. With the most spectacular views out to sea All relatively small dishes but superbly prepared and delicious. The price was spot on for the service and quality received. If you are visiting Orkney, I highly recommend you visit Skerries Bistro. We certainly will again again soon.... More

One of the best places on Orkney to eat with a stunning view to sea and mainland Scotland and a warm welcome. Fish cooked to perfection, very well presented and delicious. Don´t miss the dessert.

In search of lunch after visiting the Hoxa tapestries, we followed the trail to the Skerries Bistro. An excellent find in this remote corner of Orkney; the staff welcoming and friendly, and the menu reasonably extensive focusing on fresh fish. The service was slow, but there were wonderful views to occupy us. Can recommend.

Went here for two nights on our recent stay in Orkney, always had a pleasant welcome, especially for our little boy, and great service. The food was delicious, simply prepared and wonderfully fresh. My husband ordered a lobster that was caught the same day and on his plate within hours. We can thoroughly recommend the chocolate cake. Thank you all... More

I was looking for a restaurant for a birthday meal and saw the reviews so booked a table. We weren't disappointed - if you like fish then this restaurant is an excellent choice. The menu is fairly simple but all the food is well cooked and presented. The scallops were delicious as was the lemon sole. We were lucky to... More

Fantastic location and delicious fresh seafood simply served and allowed to speak for itself. Welcoming and cheerful service, simple and very reasonably priced wine list (and the food is good value too). Would have rated it excellent but warming rolls in the microwave (especially with a really loud ping as the kitchen door opens) is a personal irritation.

Having noticed a sign for the bistro when we were going to the Tomb of the Eagles, we decided to have a quick "soup of the day" lunch after our visit. We certainly did not expect to find a place of this quality in such a remote spot. Our "soup" quickly became a large serving of seafood chowder, which was... More

Skerries was recommended to us by several people both on Orkney and elsewhere, so when we headed for Tomb of the Eagles, we thought we would give it a try for lunch. We arrived without a booking but received a very warm welcome at the door. The service continued to be genuine and warm, and the food! Locally caught seafood... More
