Tucked away on the very South point of South Ronaldsay, close to Tomb of the Eagles, this bistro is superb, and well worth the drive. Many people must agree with ma as it was very busy, but we managed to get a table without booking. But in peak times booking would be essential. Fresh seafood, cooked with care, excellent, highly... We were looking forward to the cuisine here because their adverts say they cater for vegetarians. On the night we visited, the menu in fact had one option of a vegetarian starter - soup - and one main course - an onion tart. Our vegetarian daughter wasn't keen on either of this so asked whether the kitchen could rustle up... More

Friendly staff. Excellent food. Reasonable price. Stunning location. They even do a special 7 course menu for small groups in a stand alone spherical room outside the main restaurant; haven't tried it. This place only opened this season and everything is spanking new.

We found the Skerries Bistro while exploring the south of the Orkneys on the second day of a four day break. Having had a late breakfast we thought we would go for a lunchtime snack, but when we saw the menu that changed. Seafood Chowder, Seafood Platter, Hand dived Scallops, Half Lobster or Lobster Salad, with most of these in... More

The location is excellent and the food reasonably priced. Did not have any wine but also seemed reasonably priced. I think it is brave to open a restaurant here given the obvious investment and rural location. Only three observations for the restaurant is that the pate should be served with some toast and the new potato was overcooked and scallops... More

Excellent selection of North Sea fish and seafood with superb views of the sea. Very professional and very friendly staff, so much so that we went back a second time during our 6 day holiday on Orkney. Only about a mile away form the Tomb of the Eagles, ideal for dinner after a late afternoon visit there.

Well done Carole! Your new restaurant is outstanding. We loved coming to your previous venue, but this is stunning. We visited on 13 August; a table for four. Between us we had various starters, main courses and desserts. May I say that the food was delicious; so wonderful to have fish dishes cooked and served so beautifully; the accompanying salads...
