Delightful little Bistro in the Middle of Nowhere; Terrific Views Also

I suppose that everywhere in Orkney is the "middle of nowhere," but Skerries truly is at the end of a very long, very windy narrow typical Scottish/Orkadian road. Worth the drive indeed. The seafood is fresh and plentiful. It's expensive, but worth it because of the quality and the view. Try... read more

We are here this evening and it was terrific. Langoustines, scallops, lobster and lemon some all well cooked and tasty, congrats to chef. Staff were attentive without being intrusive and very positive pleasant. Going back on our last night in Orkney and looking forward to our next gastronomic treat.

We specifically drove from the other end of Mainland Orkney as we'd heard of this restaurant - and we're so glad we did. Our lunch included langoustines, scallops, halibut and lobster. All of it was amazing! A delightful restaurant and I can't recommend it enough.....

Went there for lunch after getting soaked on a visit to The Tomb of the Eagles nearby, with no knowledge or expectations of the visit. What a find! A great cliff top location with brilliant views. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Had a fantastic seafood chowder, which seemed reasonable value a about £8 for what it was. The... More

We found this reastarant by googling seafood on the Orkneys. Only the time of arrival requested has been difficult for us: dining at 7.15 is too early! Anyway their kitchen closes at eight and this early dinner has been worth it. The place is a bit difficult to find (it is not indicated properly but it is next to the... More

Excellent family lunch, well prepared and presented seafood. Friendly service in an attractive location. Was busy when we were there so booking is advised as you may have to wait. Seafood was great and desserts good. Would love to go again!

New building at the southern tip of Orkney overlooking the sea with a lovely menu. Try the Fisherman's platter. Its £15 but worth it if you take your time and make the most of the view and the sunshine. You can sometimes see whales from your table

Exceptionally good seafood, well prepared, beautifully presented. Glass fronted building gives great views over the Pentland Skerries. Chocolate mousse for dessert was gorgeous! A must if visiting Orkney.

We had a delicious lunch in the Bistro, choosing from a very long menu. Friendly service. Really fresh fish and crab. Well worth driving across the causeways to find it.
