We had lunch during our recent trip to the northern Isles. What a find! The best food we ate in 8 weeks travelling in Scotland.Fresh seafood, wonderfull desserts and great coffee. The staff and owners are just lovely. The resident tour guide was unwell so we didn't get to see the burial chambers adjoin the restaurant. Well worth the scenic drive... More

11 of us had an exceptional lunch here before our ferry back to the mainland. A clean, modern and welcoming setting with panaromic views and really really good food (scallops, chowder, crab, panini, excellent coffee, orkney fudge cheesecake etc etc). Oh, and they happen to have a 5000 year old tomb in the carpark, What's not to love?!

Skerries Bistro has only been open since Easter this year and is about to close for the winter but make no mistake, this is a place that is about to become very well known and very busy. The view across the cliffs to the Skerries is simply amazing but the food is the star here. There is an outside pod... More

Went for Sunday lunch on a lovely sunny day.A great situation overlooking the Pentland Firth . The restaurant is bright and airy and not very many tables ,so would recommend you book to avoid disapointment. I had the scallops for starter and they were perfectly cooked , just melted in the mouth, a good variety of main courses and sweets.

We made a specific trip for lunch having been on previous visits as part of our holiday and wanted to see the new set up - we weren't disappointed ...! My wife had langoustines - enormous and delicious, I had freshly caught ( that morning !!) halibut - it was superb. Washed down with a nice glass of sauvignon blanc.... More

Excellent service, fantastic, well presented, tasty, fresh food! Not a thing on any of our plates was processed! Limited choice for vegetarians on the menu but this could be sorted out if folk pre book and state their preferences! The best place for fish lovers to visit, yummy! To top it all off, the view is fantastic and there is... More

I was planning a visit to the nearby Tomb of the Eagles and was advised to stop here for a bite to eat and to visit the Tomb of the Otters (which I'd never heard of but is worth visiting). I went into the bistro but people in front of me were told there'd be a 10-15 minute so i... More

We had a delicious lunch here. Both had the seafood platter, faultless, in both taste and presentation. Really went to visit the Otter Tomb which as it appeared was in the centre of the car park! Worth. Visit as well as it happens, the guide was very informative an helpful. Unfortunetly it wasn't a great day with the weather, but... More
