Very handy if you fancy a bite to eat after visiting the tomb of the Eagles as it is just a short drive & well signposted. Great if you like seafood & fish as they have a wide selection of locally caught fish, etc. We had soup which was very nice, I would have preferred a bit more bread with... More

i have lived in and visit orkney very often. This is a wonderful bistro serving excellent food, particularly fish. Their scallops are to die for. We had a 7 taster meal in the "pod" outside of the restaurant with excellent views over the Pentland Firth and out to see. Exceptional service with absolutely well presented and fantastic tasting food; each... More

We were recommended to eat here and were by no means disappointed. The setting is dramatic with a very fine view and the building itself is very striking. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well as efficient and the food could not be faulted - scallops and then the sea-food platter in our case. Prices are extremely reasonable for... More

Loved it. Brilliant setting, with views south over the sea towards the north coast of Scotland; food wonderful; ambience welcoming, calm, unfussed and intimate. A very good way to relax after the walk across the clifftops to the Tomb of the Eagles.

We spent a few days in The Orkneys in March and stumbled upon Skerries Bistro by accident. The proprietors were very welcoming and we enjoyed the light lunch, however its the location that sets this place apart. It's airy, modern and has an amazing view out over to the mainland of Scotland. Not to be missed.

Following a trip to Tomb of the Eagles we decided to try the Bistro in the next turning. The food was divine. Fresh fish, cooked to perfection. Gorgeous dessert. And protection from the wind with a lovely view of the sea. Very good value too

Varied seasonal menu - all very fresh and beautifully cooked. Bottles of chilled water supplied as a matter of course. Attentive staff and a spectacular setting with outstanding views through floor to ceiling windows across the Pentland Firth to Mainland Scotland. During lunch we watched a cruise liner progress through the Firth from West to East. Excellent toilets with colour... More

Found this place completely by accident out in the wilds in the pouring rain. Very attractive building, warm welcome, lovely Polish art student waitresses. Couldn't see the view because of all the rain. But that didn't matter - the food was absolutely divine. Completely delicious. And we enjoyed the talk and visiting the Tomb of the Otters too. What a... More

My first visit to Orkney was made all the more special by visiting this little gem. With views stretching out to the coastline of Scotland and gulls, gannets and seals a plenty. We were made to feel so welcome by the owner herself and our meal of scallops and crab was first class. Definitely coming back.
