Great food and views.

We walked along from the auchrannie hotel where we were staying on our trip and I'm glad we did. The food was wonderful, great quality and portion size. The cocktails were great, as was the service of the staff. All in all we had a lovely night here and what made it even better was sitting out... read more

We went there and had a very nice soup. The view is amazing and the food is very nice. I very much enjoy the place and always go back.

I spent a week in Arran and used the Douglas Hotel regularly for snacks, meals and drinks. It has a glorious beer garden overlooking the water and literally a minute from the ferry terminal. It does 'Arran Blonde' on tap in the bar which is a delightful pint. Food is excellent and although everything is a bit pricey its no... More

A small disclaimer - I never actually ate in the Bistro but as there isn't a separate Trip Advisor page for the bar, I thought I'd post here. The Douglas Hotel Bistro and the Bar are connected but with separate door entrances - same staff, same food. The reason I loved the bar is because Brodick is very limited for... More

I visited the bar area for food last week and had dinner with friends, 9 of us all together but two groups ordering separately. There was a problem which caused five of the meals to be served over an hour late which was compensated by free drinks for those that waited. The service staff were friendly but could have been... Went for drinks and lunch on a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon but from the moment we arrived until we left it was all a bit chaotic, we wrote our own drinks order (20 minute wait as it was cocktails), wrote our own food order down and got our own cutlery etc (was waiting to be asked to go into the... Excellent food, mid-priced and good service. Lots of local dishes gave it a very scottish feel and despite the occasional noisy children it was a nice place to spend an hour.

The restuarant surroundings were pleasant and comfortable enough and I had no complaints about the staff. However, please take a look at my photograph of the fish tea that I had - how small is that fish? Don't order this if you are hungry!

We had half an hour before going for the ferry. We had a great quick snack lunch. Burger, wings and soup. All excellent and good value.

Decided to eat here after reading so many positive reviews and we were extremely disapponted. We ordered our food at 5.15 and didn't get served until 6pm. We chose Chicken and Bacon Carbonara and it was probably the worst carbonara we have ever tasted. This dish should be in a creamy sauce and what we were served was pasta and... More
