Went to doulas for tea as the drift inn was closed. Got a table in bar, limited but nice menu. However, the mucked up and brought mains before starters. When the mains did eventually arrive they were the first ones reheated as all a bit dry. Also, we got the same round of drinks twice and were charged different amounts... More

Who would imagine such a gem so far from the big world? Magical hotel, with true style and real comfort. Just enjoyed a very tasty meal - the 28 day aged steak was well priced but more importantly, really tasty. We will be back!

Visited here yesterday 8th April. Place was busy, staff friendly and helpful. Ordered the grilled roast beef chiabata which was absolutely delicious, great peppercorn sauce :). Would recommend.

We booked a table for 14 on Easter Sunday for a family reunion and to celebrate a new clan member. The restaurant was already half filling up and half way through another large party arrived, this however had no detrimental impact on the service or the quality of the food. Our party included vegetarians, children, allergies and also the need... More

We deposited our car in the queue for the ferry and had 1.5 hours to get something to eat. The Douglas looked inviting and was just across the road from the ferry terminal. We ordered burgers and drinks and they arrived very quickly. I had the chicken burger which was exceptionally tasty. The chargrilled flavour and light bun it was... More

Wonderful view, friendly staff, good food for a wear traveler. If you have old knees think twice about using the bar's restroom. The stairs are steep and narrow. Once there the facility is clean and well kept.

Scallops and Stornoway black pudding could not have been bettered. I could live on their venison chausseur! It goes well with a wee Machrie Moor Arran malt. Best crumble I've had in ages. One of the very best places to eat on Arran, both in the Bistro and the bar.

The quality of the food has deteriorated, and the bar has lost its friendly relaxing atmosphere. The bar is quite cold and the food is average
