Nice bar food and seating outside

The Douglas Bar offers a separate food menu from the Douglas Bistro which you can enjoy in the bar with lovely views over the bay, or sit outside if the weather permits. Good pub grub and friendly staff.

Decided to eat here after reading so many positive reviews and we were extremely disapponted. We ordered our food at 5.15 and didn't get served until 6pm. We chose Chicken and Bacon Carbonara and it was probably the worst carbonara we have ever tasted. This dish should be in a creamy sauce and what we were served was pasta and... More

Having travelled a distance on a hot day on a motorbike I really fancied a cool pint of lemonade. The Douglas kindly provided a totally flat pint of some sort of clear syrupy liquid, that was definitely not lemonade. I then ordered a Caesar Salad, wanting something light and refreshing to eat. I received the 2nd worst Caesar Salad I... More

Wonderful food and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Portion sizes perhaps a little big - we struggled through the tapas style starter and the fish and chips and didn't relish wasting so much food. Aside from that though great experience!

Lovely hotel to stop for a quick drink or a coffee, did have an evening meal in the bar. Food was lovely but for 2 beers and 2 burgers cost best part of £40 quid. I suppose it is hotel prices!

Prior to our recent holiday on Arran we had checked out a number of restaurants in advance and decided to eat at the Douglas Bistro primarily because they are participants in a scheme that gives diners a 2 for 1 deal or 50% discount on meals. We had also looked at the online menu and while it seemed a very... More

I had won a voucher to eat here with visit Scotland and the meals were outstanding!! My husband had the chateaubriand and loved it and the lamb was cooked to perfection!! We had a £50 voucher as part of the win and the bill came to £51.25. The manager then told us that we owed nothing and they hoped we... More

Enjoyed a really nice meal and drinks at the Douglas on our final night in Brodick. Everyone was happy with their meal. We had the scallops and wood pigeon appetizers to start followed by the seared cod and lamb chump. Fondant cake to finish the evening was perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere, the rotating servers were all pleasant and it was... More

We stopped off on Saturday evening for a bite to eat and sat in the well appointed bar area. We ordered two fish and chips with a side of garlic bread: having ordered at twenty to eight, our fish and chips arrived at 9pm. Whilst we understand it is a bar setup, there was no real service from the staff... More
