Fine bar - good food

Wonderful view, friendly staff, good food for a wear traveler. If you have old knees think twice about using the bar's restroom. The stairs are steep and narrow. Once there the facility is clean and well kept.

delicious food. Lovely choice - each option we had was tasty, flavoursome and quality produce. Excellent place.

Scallops and Stornoway black pudding could not have been bettered. I could live on their venison chausseur! It goes well with a wee Machrie Moor Arran malt. Best crumble I've had in ages. One of the very best places to eat on Arran, both in the Bistro and the bar.

The quality of the food has deteriorated, and the bar has lost its friendly relaxing atmosphere. The bar is quite cold and the food is average

Food and service both very good. Menu excellent. Mussel starter out of this world. Plainer food can be had in the bar.

Stayed overnight here and I honestly couldn't find fault with either diner or breakfast. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection (rare) and the breakfast selection was better than any I've encountered on my travels around the West of Scotland so far. The continental range was huge and the Scottish breakfast was excellent. I will be back.

Food was awful. We had the burgers (bought in) with goat cheese and fries (bought in). Terrible atmosphere. Do not recommend!!

Popped in for a quick bowl of soup before catching the ferry home and it was awful we should of waited to have something on the ferry. The service was average, you order at the bar so not any interaction at all and the soup we had was awful and over priced. Disappointed that this was the last place that... More

Friendly and efficient staff serving (mostly) locally produced food. An imaginative menu with plenty choice and super tastes. The surroundings are very pleasant. All in all, an extremely relaxing and enjoyable experience

My partner and I went for our anniversary and fell in love with the place. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms are a really generous size and they had very high quality linen and furniture. The bathrooms were beautiful and the room was immaculate. The hotel is certainly unique and has its own charm. We were also very impressed... More
