A very good place

This place has been refurbished. It serves local beer as well as the usual stuff. The food isn't overpriced and it is decent. I am just not convinced they serve real chips. Why don't places just go the extra mile with the detail and do their own chips? Anyway, still good and worth a visit. It... read more

Had a good evening previously. Booked today , what a contrast. In 1 & a half hours we had only been served 1 course, even though drinks & food order had been taken. It's not the waiting staff fault so where was management interacting with customers? The food is nicely presented, tasty & well cooked but if you've had a... More

I ate in the restaurant at this hotel and the food was brilliant. The thing that I really loved though was the view out of the window ; it made travelling to Arran even better.

We stopped in for a quick lunch before boarding the ferry and were very pleased with the meal. The sandwiches were fresh. The salads were tasty, fresh and satisfying. We recommend the Douglas.

Everything you would expect in terms of quality and service. As I am expected to say 100 words I would simply reiterate that this is very good.

Visited yesterday for lunch, staff very attentive and food came quickly. I enjoyed my veggie burger but would appeal to the chef to add more choice for vegetarians to the menu. My husband is a non-veggie but will often order a veggie meal if the choice is good.

We stayed for two nights this week and had breakfast and dinner in the bistro both days. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu had a varied selection and you could also order from the bar menu, which is a bit less fancy if you are a fussy eater like me! All four of us were really pleased... More

A table of 6 of use came here for an evening dinner over the may bank holiday. We were told there would be a 25 minute wait which was fine with us. After an hour of waiting our first meal arrived, 45 minutes later the last dish arrived. By that point we'd had to eat our meals to save them... More

Dear Chris, Thank you for your feedback. I would, however, like to go over a couple of inaccuracies in your review. I was the manager on duty on the Sunday night of the May Bank Holiday weekend and remember your group well. Firstly, you say there was 6 of you which is not quite true. There was a table (the...
