My brother treated me to lunch here on our way north. We had the set lunch - he chose steak for an additional £6.50 and I had the smokie risotto which was nice too. We were too full for dessert (you can choose two or three courses) so just had coffee. When I looked at the bill later - my... More

Thank you for your review. I am dismayed that you did not receive your coffees as the second course as this is customary at the wee restaurant. Please contact myself and I can refund you the £5 for the coffees. I will speak to all the staff and reiterate that if customers only have one course but have coffee then... More

lovely meal as Sunday lunch with visiting fussy cousin from London. Couldnt fault the place except it would have been uncomfortable with more people - far too many tables jammed into the space. Fantastic food/good wine/cheerful and attentive waitress. Will be back for dinner some time. Elizabeth and Derek Wilson, Edinburgh

Excellent. Everything on time and everyone took their time. Out of the way but train station is very close. We had a starter of mussels in cream, I went home and tried to copy the recipe with I would say near success. Our wine was expensive and so was the meal, so not for the faint hearted wallet. Special treat,... More

Let's start with the problem - lack of soft furnishings make this restaurant very noisy, which is exacerbated by the proximity of the tables - all far to close to each other. The menu, we found to be very limited, and all dishes in a certain style - but everything was tasty and nicely presented, apart from the cheeseboard -... More

Thank you for taking the time to review The Wee Restaurant. I'm glad you gave us 4/5 for your experience but was saddened by your remarks. I agree it was very busy when you were visiting us on Saturday, as the 50th Anniversary of the Forth Road Bridge was happening on this evening, making the restaurant atmosphere quite loud at... More

We went to the Wee restaurant for lunch today. The menu was compact but everything we tried was expertly executed. The mussels in the cream, pancetta and parmesan sauce was beautiful. Our waitress was incredibly helpful and couldn't have been more attentive. We would thoroughly recommend.

Thanks for you lovely comments. It means a lot to us that you have taken the time to review our Wee Restaurant. I've passed onto Keri (our part time waitress) your comments about her great service. We hope you return soon. Vikki & Craig Wood More

Visited the Wee Restaurant on Friday for lunch, we did book which I think is advisable, although there were not many people in at all which is surprising. The food, service, and wine were all fantastic. They do a set lunch menu, with a choice of around 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 puddings, around £17.00 for 2 courses which... More

Great food, reasonably priced. Great service. But the restaurant is quite small (hence the name), so reservations are a must.

We discovered this little restaurant quite by chance while walking the Fife Coastal Path through North Queensferry and decided to return sometime for dinner later in the summer. So, three months later we did just that, getting there in just fifteen minutes by train from Haymarket. Both food and service were great. My starter of a duck scotch egg was... More

Small restaurant situated on the north shore of the River Forth almost under the Forth (Railway) Bridge. Went there for lunch and had a choice of 3 starters, 4 mains and 2 puds. Excellent food, presentation and welcoming staff. I thoroughly recommend Craig's Shetland Mussels with bacon, fresh basil, pine nuts and Parmesan - available as a starter or a... More

I really enjoyed my night out with friends at this lovely "wee" restaurant. I have food intolerances, which were accommodated without any fuss. In fact, I'd say the staff went out of their way to provide appetising alternatives to the menu. We all enjoyed our meals, which were beautifully presented. I had the mussels to start and the sea bass... More
