A welcome addition to Fife's fine dining scene.

Came here to catch up with a old friend over a leisurely lunch. This is a relaxed, bright and comfortable venue where the waitress proved knowledgeable and attentive without being overweening. The pleasant ambience made it no hardship to linger a while! We both opted for the starter of Shetland... read more

I went to this nice restaurant with my girlfriend, for a different kind of evening in a romantic spot. After reading some enthusiastic comments, we decided to go there. Theoretically speaking, the dishes were interesting (after days of...pubs... it was heaven!). But when we received our selection, a range of disappointments started. The food in general was not worth for... More

Before the starter was served some bread was presented on a quirky piece of wood that was in keeping with the high end feel of this small restaurant in the middle of a tiny village on the shores of the forth river, a stones throw from the Firth of Forth bridge. It appears to be a converted house and well... More

We had eaten here a couple of times--but not for 12 months. It was fine but not as good as previously and seemed more expensive for the menu (£170 for 4 including wine). The scallops in gazpacho were ordered by all of us and we all agreed that the gazpacho overpowered the very nice scallops ( 3 each!). The risotto... More

My wife and I had lunch today. Bright and airy with impeccable service. The mussel starter was delicious and we both had the half lobster special as a main. Beautifully cooked and presented. No wine as I was driving but the wine list had something to suit most palates without breaking the bank. First visit on the recommendation of a... More

£28-50 for two courses or £36-00 for three courses. That's what it said on the menu. So if we make it £8-50 for a starter and £7-50 for a dessert that's £20 for my main course. We were out to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. My wife picked the mussels, with pine nuts, red onion, spring onions and pancetta. I... More

I am disappointed you did not like your dinner this week whilst you visited the restaurant. I remember you and I served you myself, I only wish you had discussed your concerns with me on the evening. We always ask customers during the main course if everything is alright and enjoyble. If you chose to say yes I don't know... More

What a lovely little find! Food was excellent and waitress was friendly & knowledgeable. Food is very good value for money, cooked perfectly & presented very well. They also do a set menu which I very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning.

First off, this little gem of a place right under the rail bridge to Edinburgh oozes character. We made reservations for a Sunday night and were glad that we did - a couple of walk-ins were turned away. The 2 or 3 course menu is always changing, but apparently usually has a steak, a couple of fish options, and other... More

Made our second visit to the wee restaurant recently. Whilst there is little to fault with the food, and the staff are friendly and efficient, we do feel it's rather expensive. Comparing it to similar standards in Edinburgh, I think you could get better value over there. However it is nice to head out of town sometimes, and the location... More

I've been going once a year for about 6 years and based on originality, quality, presentation, service and price, on balance this is simply the best restaurant in the world ..... and for afters, the stunning views of the Forth Rail Bridge. The only downside .... it's a two hour drive from home!
