The food was delicious but was disappointed that our family/social gathering of reserved 20pax were not quite accommodated and placed completely separated in two separate rooms. The reservation does indicate that if your party is more than 10-13 you will not be sitting at the same table but nowhere indicating that you will be in a totally out of reach... More

My husband and I made reservations two weeks in advance at Miss BOBO's. He had gotten a cookbook for me there many years ago when he went with his company (he is a liquor salesmen. I was so excited to finally get there. The food was very good, and learning the history was very interesting. Our hostess was very personable,... More

When we travel to the historic town of Lynchburg to enjoy a tour of the world famous distillery, and its quaint downtown complete with shops, ice cream parlor, courthouse and jail, we always try to eat lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House. The house has been past from family to family each adding improvements to the home. To visit... More

Services was awful. They charged for people that were not able to make the trip and told us we only had 20 minutes to eat and get out. The worst services I have ever received and will not go back.

Have heard of Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House for decades and finally got a chance to visit. This is an example of old-fashioned Southern cooking family style, just pass the serving platters for more. You are seated at tables for 10-16 people and each table has a hostess who regales the group with stories of the boarding house and local... More

Great southern food, amazing sweet tea, and gracious staff. I loved eating with strangers and hearing about everyone's lives. I've never had a meal like this before and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life; totally unforgettable.
