We decided to try for a last minute reservation at this busy restaurant/attraction in Lynchburg, TN. And were glad we did as we enjoyed and superior meal with interesting random other guests we were seated with. The great home cooking was a welcome way to destroy the post-holiday blues! Prepared fresh daily on premises and served by friendly, local college... More

This is a tough one to call. If half-stars were appropriate, this would be three and a half stars. When it comes to "home cooking," I would say that Miss Mary Bobo's is hard to beat. And perhaps it was due to the fact that we were there as part of a large group as guests of a business, but... More

I have been hearing about how wonderful and delicious everything here was for decades. I know I am going to be an outlier compared to all the other reviews here. I will get to the good things first. Service was attentive, having a host sit at the end of our table was a plus. The food on the other hand... More

This place always puts on the "feed" family style. They have hostesses in each room. This is the first time I had this hostess and she really presented some new information. You don't eat for hours afterward.

This was our second visit to Lynchburg in 6 months, and eating at Miss Mary Bobo's was high on our lists of redo's. It did not disappoint! Ms. Emily was a gracious hostess, who had us all laughing with her stories. For dinner, we had a "Christmas meal", and everything was absolutely delicious. We had a young lady from the... More

Having reserved weeks in advance, I recently had a wonderful lunch here. Served in typical boarding house style, the table was loaded with traditional comfort food including such favorites as fried chicken, meat loaf, white beans, fried okra, candied apples, and fantastic chess pie. The conversation at my table was very interesting; I had a great time!

If you are going to Jack Daniels and Lynchburg, definitely make reservations and eat here. Each room has a family size table which you will share with others and is hosted by a docent. You will hear stories about the history of the area and Jack Daniels. The Southern Comfort food is great and the atmosphere of the restaurant is... More

Miss Mary Bobo's in Lynchburg, TN USA is an ex-boarding home / hotel that is now used strictly for Southern home cooked meals. The most important thing to remember about Miss Bobo's is that RESERVATIONS are REQUIRED. There are several rooms that were once hotel rooms and are now used as dining rooms. Approximately 300 people are served daily, via... More

We sat in the Tolley dining room which was fitting since we had stayed at the Tolley House. Our hostess, Betty Robertson, was sweet and I enjoyed hearing her stories. We had fried chicken, pork tenderloin, greens, corn salad, fried okra (my favorite), potato casserole, apples with Jack Daniels, ham and beans, and corn bread muffins. The food was good... More
