Worth the Drive! Phone for reservations

Lynchburg is a much smaller town than I expected, just 300+ souls. So when we finished the Jack Daniel's tour, we were glad that we'd made phone reservations at Miss Mary Bobo's for lunch the next day. We went on a COLD Monday afternoon and the place was nearly filled. The food was rich... read more

This is an experience that really ties the distillery to the town. It is a meal fully charged for the hearty eater. I remember some very fine carrots with a glaze to kill for - I think some of the recipe comes from the distillery....as did that for a desert I had. A great opportunity to learn more history about... We stopped here for the 1 PM seating with a bachelor party. We sat down at a table for 10 (8 of us in the party and 2 other people seated at our table) in a dinning room. When we walked in food and drink were on the table. Our host shared stories about the boarding house while we ate.... More

Family style, bottomless bowl style with a hostess full of information and tales at the table. Do make reservations. Meat loaf, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, broccoli rice, rolls and, brace yourself, apple dumplings with Jack Daniel Fire sauce and Jack Daniel whipped cream.

I can't really compare this to any other restaurants I've been to. It's quite unique. It's an old boarding house, and everyone is assigned to a separate dining room, where you will be seated in groups of 10 or 15. Each room is called and seated at once. The food is served family style, and is delicious. You will not... More

This eating experience is very unique and well worth the visit. We took a group of 10 to eat here and everyone truly loved it. Great food with southern charm all around. Don't miss this on your trip to Jack Daniels. Reservations are advised.

A delightful culinary repast! We attended the 1 PM sitting and enjoyed family style dining with a local hostess that regaled us with regional history as we dined on fried chicken, meatloaf, fried okra, mac & cheese, apples simmered in Jack Daniels, stewed potatoes, and shelly beans with red pepper relish. Following the feast they served chocolate Jack Pie that... More

I wasn't sure what to expect from here. A reservation was made for us to go there for lunch after visiting the distillery. Once we got there, we learned the format. It's not something my wife and I would normally do, but we were pleasantly surprised. The host at our table was great, and she had so many great stories... More

This was my first time visiting after visiting Lynchburg MANY times. I could never get reservations. During this time of year they have tipsy sweet potatoes instead of tipsy apples. Everything was great. Our hostess was so sweet and knowledgeable. The young adults serving use were very friendly and helpful. What a treat for a great friends birthday. Thank you... More
