I'd always rated this place and recommended it to friends until recently. I went there, spent money in the place, then the owner was so rude I considered phoning the police. I won't be back.

Went here for Lunch after a visit to Falkland Palace. Beautifully looked after by the owner. Flower baskets and tubs outside are beautiful and very welcoming. Staff attentive and excellent service. Food was nicely cooked and plenty of it. Try the home- made steak pie. My husband said it's just like the one I make myself. (Praise indeed) Excellent value... More

Visited a while ago, oh my its changed. So so disappointed, food was ok nothing special, but come on, it's filthy, grubby and sticky. Extra loud customers are a pain in the rear too, reign it in, not nice hearing someone elses conversation for the entire meal.obvoiusly the cook knows them as she came out and joined in.Sorry to say... Good honest pub food, generous portions at reasonable prices. I had fish & chips, Nice fresh vegetables (the carrots are always especially tasty for some reason) and salad. My dining companions steak pie looked home made, I'll be having that next time! Have never been disappointed at this pub!

Went for a late lunch with my mum, we were made very welcome by a female with blonde short hair. The food was good and came quickly. I'd go back!

Been here lots of times and couldn't believe the awful reviews - until I went in lately. Food good basic pub grub so that's not the problem. My friends and I all agreed its obvious where the problem lies - with the staff! Disgruntled, impatient, foul mouthed and ignorant. Don't blame it on the young ones either, its the older members... More

The benchmark dish of any pub grub must surely be fish and chips, no? Unfortunately here, the fish is frozen and not fresh. We all know what frozen battered cod or haddock tastes like. Friends had steak and ale "pie". It wasn't really a pie - more like a beef stew with a small bit of separately cooked puff pastry... More
