The Caprice is a family run restaurant in the historical town of Musselburgh. We specialise in a Italian Swiss cuisine, with almost 50 years experience. We have original wood-fired ovens to give the pizzas that extra taste of quality and originality. Each pizza is treated with special care. Even to the wood we use, Scottish Pine, is chosen because it adds the required flavour which lets you know you are enjoying a genuine freshly baked pizza.

Decent Italian restaurant worth a visit

This is a good family traditional Italian restaurant good for after theatre or for a routine evening meal. Decent food and good service at a fair price. Right in the centre of Musselburgh. Not a destination restaurant but worth visiting if you happen to be in the town.

Not a difficult review to do as been going here for about 20 years, food is always excellent and have still to go somewhere that does a better pizza, good value for money as its a 3 course meal for £11.95 before 8pm, the only reason that I have not given 5 star is the service can be questionable but... Lovely little restaurant in the centre of Musselburgh. Garlic Mushroom starter was a bit uninspiring, but the Lasagne main was very good. Washed down with two Peronis and good value for money.

We visited on Wednesday evening and had a really relaxed family meal and a good night out. Staff were helpful and attentive without being intrusive and we didn't have to wait too long for each course. my wife asked for, and got, a dish which was not on the menu. The food was good and the prices reasonable. We will... More

We visited on a busy Sunday evening of the Bank holiday and had a good meal, we mainly had the half and half Pizza and pasta offer which were all excellent quality and good value, big portions. Unfortunately they had run out of steaks so my husband took the servers recommendation instead which was not great, a flattened chicken breast... More

Been many times and not once been able to fault the service or the food. Always guaranteed good quality pizzas along with a very high standard of service.

I visited the Caprice Restaurant with my family to celebrate a birthday. We had a lovely meal and good service. The person whose Birthday it is eats free.

I first visited the Caprice in its halcyon days when run by Alongi family in the 1980s. I used to like to go back as it didn't really change and the oven fired pizza and pasta was a great favourite, until last night. Last night there was a cheap deal menu on for 3 courses and although we ordered from... More

I had emailed the restaurant to book a table for my daughter's birthday. I received a prompt reply confirming the booking. When we arrived at the restaurant they had no reservation in their book, apparently the person who replied to the email hadn't put the booking in. We were offered two tables, one with two seats and one with three,... More
