The Caprice is a family run restaurant in the historical town of Musselburgh. We specialise in a Italian Swiss cuisine, with almost 50 years experience. We have original wood-fired ovens to give the pizzas that extra taste of quality and originality. Each pizza is treated with special care. Even to the wood we use, Scottish Pine, is chosen because it adds the required flavour which lets you know you are enjoying a genuine freshly baked pizza.

Nice restaurant but small

Me and my husband went for a rare night out without our daughter, cosy atmosphere, food was excellent and good drinks choice. The only downside i could see was there would be no room for buggies so wouldnt be able to bring my 1 yr od daughter or throughout the day with friends

Really nice atmosphere, food was excellent.Only 2 wee blackmarks, very cramped when busy,as it was when we visited, lots of chair shuffling to let waitresses past without spilling food over the customers and they need another CD,5x Frankie singing "Fly me to the Moon" in the 1hr or so we were there. The food itself was delicious and a reasonable priced menu with a... Was really looking forward to our trip to the Caprice having heard so much about it and being fairly local. I ordered a 'Vulcano' pizza, menu stated it included chicken and jalapeno peppers and was hot/spicy. Nothing could be further from the truth, 1/2cm squares of chicken pieces strewn about and not a chilli in sight, except for some 'flakes'... More

This family run restaurant has been established since 1969. They were the first restaurant in Edinburgh to cook Pizza in a log fired oven. The pizza and pasta dishes are fresh made and excellent. The owner is always on hand serving and looking after her customers. I have sampled many Italian restaurants in Edinburgh but my favourite restaurant is the... More

Heard so much about caprice and was really looking forward to our delivery of pizza, took advantage of two for one, 80 minute wait, this was the worst pizza ever,no taste,no toppings and such a bad pizza base. Will never go back.

Some of my favourite memories are family celebrations at this restaurant and, 30+ years on, it never disappoints. The service is polite and friendly and, in my experience, the food is always fantastic. Caprice pizzas are by far the best and my absolute favourite is the prawn pizza. I've just sat down to a rare child-free meal and the homemade... More

We'd don't often get a take away from here as last time the service was very slow. We decided to order pizza since it was Tuesday's deal!!now I understand it's a busy time for them but we ordered two pizzas and they took almost 2hrs to arrive from ordering. We rang to check where they were and promised it would... More

We were a party of 9 who visited Caprice this evening. We were booked at 5.30 and had to wait outside in the cold until the door was unlocked at 5.30. There was a queue! Anyway we were greeted warmly and from then had a pleasant experience. The waiter was chatty. The 'half and half' pizza and pasta meals were... More

It was like hunt the prawns, and they dont use real chilli's. the chillis they used were dried flakes and tasted like broken bits of crisps, and they charge extra for this. The Spaghetti Bolognese my other half ordered was pale and look sad i n colour, tghe pasta and... More
