The Caprice is a family run restaurant in the historical town of Musselburgh. We specialise in a Italian Swiss cuisine, with almost 50 years experience. We have original wood-fired ovens to give the pizzas that extra taste of quality and originality. Each pizza is treated with special care. Even to the wood we use, Scottish Pine, is chosen because it adds the required flavour which lets you know you are enjoying a genuine freshly baked pizza.

A good find

Was in Musselburgh for weekend with group of friends, receptionist at Travel Lodge suggested we try here. Car park at rear which was handy as we all had dogs with us. When I went in and asked for a table for 9 I was directed upstairs which was good as a group of people can be a bit... read more

Many visits to the Caprice and I absolutely love it, one of my favourite places to eat! Thoroughly recommend as their pizza and pasta tastes wonderful like proper Italian cuisine.

We went along to the Caprice as a last minute decision so we hadn't booked. We were seated straight away and within minutes a waitress had come for our drinks order. It was lovely, relaxing and very friendly. The older waiter (Giovanni?) Was an instant hot with our 8 year old daughter - smiling, waving and joking with her! Our... More

My wife and I ate here recently as part of a 17 strong party for a birthday celebration. We were at a large table upstairs which was perfect as only one other small party were in the room. Before I mention the food I must congratulate the waitress who was in attendance all night. Although she had help with the... More

Just had dinner here to celebrate my brothers birthday. Had a lovely evening with super food and excellent service. Great value for money. The best pizzas in the east of Scotland.

I moved to Musselburgh recently, my neighbours told me the Caprice was excellent. Well I guess we caught them on a bad night. Order was taken promptly by a friendly waitress, food took quite a long time to arrive. I think I was unlucky, others in my party enjoyed their food. My prawn tagliatelle dish was over cooked, squeezed into... More

Visited with friends on Easter Monday so the restaurant was busy! I always like the food at the Caprice. Quality pizzas although the chicken is cut into little cubes and I think using non processed meat would be better! I always go for half and half with various pizza and past options! Reasonably prices and although the service was slow,the... More

We were staying in Musselburgh for the Easter Races and went out for a meal. We came across the 'Caprice' by accident. My husband does not like pasta so was reluctant to go inside. We ordered from the Monday - Thursday special offer 3 course menu. The starters were delicious, as were the mains and the desserts were to die... More

Me and my husband went for a rare night out without our daughter, cosy atmosphere, food was excellent and good drinks choice. The only downside i could see was there would be no room for buggies so wouldnt be able to bring my 1 yr od daughter or throughout the day with friends
