Excellent

Excellent restaurant good choice of menu, good choice of wine and prices reasonable. Lovely decor. Very busy on a Saturday night and could do with more staff (working) one in particular grey haired man seemed to spend most of his time "charming" some regulars rather than working.

Very attentive staff....stunning food offered when dining as overnight guests. At no time were we rushed. In fact, the waiters were more than attentive and as polite as humanly possible.

We two went for lunch at around 1.15 and easily got a table. From the outside you can tell its going to be lovely inside judging by the thatched roof. The surroundings didn't let us down; an old fashioned theme in keeping with the age of the building, big open fires and some high backed armchairs. The room extends into... More

I experienced several excellent dining experiences in December 2015 and this was the first one at the beginning of the month. The staff were attentive and the food from the Christmas evening menu was top-notch: at first, it seemed quite expensive at £26.95 for two courses, but there were complementary breads & entrees, which, like the starters, main courses &... Had a family meal here over Christmas and it was very well cooked and presented as usual, I've been here a number of times over the last 10 years and the food is always carefully cooked and well presented. No hesitation in recommending it for a family meal occasion. Not bursting with personality, but always good quality.

We booked a Christmas lunch the Sunday before Christmas. We were seated without waiting and the service was quick and consistent. We had pre-ordered meals and these were served with perfect timing between each meal. The bread is a nice touch and was lovely, but unfortunately I ate too much which filled me and I think one piece of bread... More

We had a lovely dinner here in early December. The ambiance was warm and relaxed. Tasteful Christmas decorations. The food was excellent and the service too. I love the old world charm of this place. A very enjoyable experience.

Will go here quite regularly, with family and friends, beautiful hotel especially in the winter months with all the open fires, food of a great standard, service sometimes a bit slow, but well worth a visit!!
