Great menu, poor sides

Last here in Sept 14, lovely meal for all the family, visited again 03/15 to find their spring menu. We had the shared platter, it contained a little of everything, chilli prawns, fish cakes shredded duck, hummus, goats cheese and Parma ham, served with speciality breads, this was excellent, very... read more

Eaten here twice in one week. The first occasion, mid week, pork fillet and chicken supreme. Both excellent. Also ordered caesar salad and garlic fries as sides. Both were very good, couldn't have been better. The second occasion, was for Sunday lunch for 9 people. Selection from a Sunday lunch set menu or the bistro menu. Everyone without exception had... We've eaten here a few times and find the food to be better than average but it has the potential to be so much better. As others rightly say they need to improve on ensuring food is served hot. Menu choice appears to have narrowed too. Not yet the fine dining experience perhaps they aspire to be, rather more up... More

Had a meal here a few weeks ago with 5 colleagues and I must say that all the meals were fantastic. Four of us had rib eye steaks and they were to die for- succulence and flavour abounded. The starters also were beautiful and the service wad efficient and pleasant. I'll be back.

Came here with family in January. The food I receive was stone cold and when I say to the waitress about it all she does is offer to reheat in the microwave because it is "not their responsibility to make sure food is warm" safe to say I won't be back in a hurry.

Last night my friends and I went to The Eagle for a celebration meal. While the starters were excellent four of the main courses had to be returned because they were luke warm. They were the haddock. When they were brought back they were no warmer. We did not let this mar our enjoyment and proceeded with our meal. Everyone... More

We visited The Eagle on 17th January for a family celebration and were thoroughly dissapointed with the food and service. Haddock was grey, slimy and definitely not fresh, one of the steaks ordered was off and the chips tasted like they had been cooked in old fat. No one came to ask if we were enjoying our meal and when... More
