Excellent Resturant

We were recommended The Khayber by a friend who knew we were travelling to Ballymena for the weekend. First impressions as you arrive outside is it looks small and uninspiring, DO NOT judge this book by its cover, once you get inside the place is very well decorated and welcoming. Enjoyed a faultless dining experience here on a Tuesday night when you might expect low volume of diners to affect food quality, service etc. Not so on this occasion. Our starters of Zeera Chicken, Sheekh Kebab, Tandoori mix and King Prawn puri were all ample portions and distinctively spiced. The mains of Tandoori Monkfish, Chicken Patia, Vegetable Methi, Lamb Dopiaza,... More

Friends and I recently visited The Khayber Restaurant at Galgorm outside Ballymena. When my party and I arrived at the restaurant we were taken directly to our table. Popadoms's and tasty condiments arrived followed soon-after by a platter of mixed starters. Our party ordered a selection of mild, medium and spicy Punjabi dishes to share but the Tandoori Monkfish served... More

Having tried the takeaway in Ballymena of the same name it was disappointing to the same chef had prepared the meals. Though the premises were 3 miles apart the sauces in the curries from both seemed to be from the same pot with a few spices added depending on the dish. Sorry ro be so negative but there was nothing... More

We love their food. Lovely big chunks of chicken in creamy sauces. The only downside is that the cost of the 'meat' part of a meal (abt £7) would buy a full Chinese meal from a few door away - you then need to pay for 'sides' & naan. Chips aren't the best so we order those from nearby if... More

The restaurant seemed busy and as me and my friends are regulars we know what to order, we we're in quite early an ordered the tandoori monkfish and tandoori king prawns which we're delicious....although we waited a bit longer than usual we could appreciate the restaurant does takeaways too. Food was superb and service was 10/10 as per usual, regular... More

We had dinner at the Khayber at the beginning of September. The food and service were very good and the food was served very quickly. However when we were presented with the bill, we were shocked to find we had been charged more than £10 for 2 pints of lager shandy. Everything else was pretty reasonably priced, but the cost...
