Great grub just needs to be a bit more intimate

We recently ate downstairs in the pub for lunch. The food was very tasty and well presented and there was a pleasant atmosphere. We have also eaten upstairs at night and the atmosphere varies depending on where you are seated. The openness of some areas doesn't produce a good ambience and a little... read more

I visit my family in Ballymena twice each year and on each occasion I go and have a meal in the Blackstone. I have never been disappointed. I went there yesterday with three others. While I always rate the food as very good, yesterday it was supberb. I, and two others, had the Kerryhill Lamb which was well presented and... More

This was our last meal before going on holidays and it was class as usual.there were 3 of us but we had the mixed platter for 2 Which was not only ample but excellent. Needless to say our main course was of the same standard as was the wine. Once again thanks to the staff for an excellent evening.

My husband took myself and our two sons to the Blackstone for my birthday. Unfortunately it was a waste of our time and money and spoiled my birthday. We were advised the sirloin was sold out but ribeye was available. My husband and I ordered it, When it arrived at least a third of the steak was pure fat, and... More

My wife and I eat here on a regular basis. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. The service is first class. There are dishes to suit everyone's taste and the wines are reasonably priced. One of the better restaurants in the area.

Menu had a great selection with a lot of seafood choices. Service a little slow but food was simple and tasty and great value for a 2 course meal for 2.

Ate here for the first time under duress as I thought from where it is located the food wouldn't be up to much. I was very pleasantly surprised! The decor is beautiful, staff very friendly but not overly attentive and the food excellent. It's all a little bit more pricey that I'd usually pay but it's so worth it. Access... More

Do not waste your hard earned cash on this super greasy muck supposedly served up as food, this must rate as one of the worst meals I have ever eaten and at nearly £50 for two which included only 2 diet cokes it is a total rip-off. How it rates at number 8 on Tripadvisor is a total mystery it... More

Great food and good service when my husband, 18month old son and I ate here on Easter Monday. Couldn't fault it apart from the fact that there is no baby changing facility. This in the end spoiled what had been a lovely dining experience, not sure I'd go back while I have a child in nappies.
