Went here as I used to go the Purple Cow. Oh how things have changed but not for the better! It is decorated in a style that is somewhere between an Indian Restaurant and a Nightclub. It has no atmosphere and lacks any personality. After waiting at the bar while the 2 girls were talking one finally decided to kiss... More

I have been to The Village previously called The Purple Cow, I went Saturday Lunch time, The food was presented lovely and was gorgeous. The young girl behind the bar was fantastic and accommodating. She made us a lovely cocktail and was extremely helpful. With this warm welcome we visited Sunday evening for Dinner, The same young Lady looked after... More

Had heard poor reviews from people when this venue opened but decided to give it a try. Decent service and took our order from the table. Ordered the bacon and Brie wrap it came with frys and coleslaw and was warm. It was delicious. Toilets nice and clean. I will be back.

I tried this Café Bar for the second time, today. I was appalled at the service, I was given, The young gentleman had a I can not be bothered with you attitude and smelt strongly of nicotine which put us off from the start. I saw him personally go out for a cigarette at least two times whilst we were... More

I frequented The Purple Cow and missed it when it closed. We now have in its place a depressingly refurbished cafe/bar with an uninspiring name run by disorganised staff. The awful dark grey walls may work for an evening bar but they are certainly not very welcoming as a cafe during the day. It was my first visit to the... More

Yes the Purple Cow has changed its name to Village café and bar and its interior décor is very modern We went as a group of 8 as a treat after a meeting. Nothing happened. The table was not cleared and cleaned and no sign of anyone taking our orders although there were 3 servers and it was 3.15 in... More

This is a new venue not related to the Purple Cow at all. Just opened last week in July. Two of us went for lunch. Unless service improves, will definitely not return. In a small establishment like this, having to go to the counter and order is just rubbish; it's not Wetherspoons. It's ridiculous having to queue not to mention... More

Unfortunately 'The Purple Cow' which we frequented on a number of occasions has closed its doors, and is up for sale. We do not know why, it seemed to be doing so well, busy every day, and we enjoyed its food, there is a rummer that the owner is expecting a baby, but this should not have caused it to close,... More

Today, 30th May 2014, when I passed the Purple Cow Cafe, I noticed a chalk board in the entrance courtyard that stated "Closed until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience." The windows were lightly whitewashed. I heard that there was a change in ownership but cannot confirm if the restaurant is permanently closed or not. Maybe they are refurbishing. There... More
