The biggest teacakes on the planet

Popped in for a cup of tea and a bun after doing a bit of shopping in Wimborne. First time I have been in here. What a superb teacake. Huge. Nicely toasted until golden brown and then spread with butter. As a mid morning snack it's hard to beat. Friendly staff and very efficient in spite of... read more

Do you remember that sketch when Jennifer Saunders ate a Wagon Wheel the size of a dinner plate? Well that’s the experience you get when confronted with one of The Cloisters Restaurant colossal teacakes – an enormous dinner plate of hot buttery yumminess. But you’d better take a friend because there’s enough for two and everyone knows if you split... More

Sometimes the perfect comfort food is scrambled eggs on toast and these did not disappoint. Perfect and creamy with fried mushrooms on the side. Delicious. I love that I got a pot of hot water with the tea as well. My friends little boy (age 3) was made welcome and his glass of milk with a straw wasn't a problem.... More

After a busy last minute Christmas shop in Wimborne our favourite cafe in Wimborne- The Riverside Cafe was closed, so we thought we'd give the Cloisters a try for lunch. Service was excellent and the food generally good (I get fed up with frozen chips though) The food was well presented and tasty. The outlook and general atmosphere of the... More

What a lovely little place, in the middle of Wimborne, we arrived shortly before they were due to close, but they didn't rush us out of the door. Good Coffee, good shortbread and good hot chocolate too. x

Although I never go in for anything more than a latte and a slice of carrot cake or to share a large tea cake with my mum, it is always brilliant. The coffee is smooth and the teacake plenty for two - nicely smothered in butter. The carrot cake for £2.20 is a generous slice and is one of the... More

Popped in here today for a cooked breakfast with an old friend and, as usual, Cloisters came up trumps! Good service and lovely food.

Lovely cafe for a quick lunch, lovely soup (touch salty, but we eat low sodium) We will certainly go back as we are often in Wimborne and it is good to find a place to eat that is pleasant and good food.
