There was a very good choice on the menu, not just traditional pub food. We had the trio of local sausage and chicken in madeira sauce. All came with really good fresh vegetables and a choice of potatoes. We were far too full for any dessert as the portions were very generous. The price was good and proved good value... More

Stopped for lunch here because we couldn't get parked in Wareham, and we were very glad we did. We were immediately made to feel very welcome, the service was excellent and the food was very good - tasty, straightforward home cooking, just what we had been looking for; an added bonus was the offering of smaller portions for those with... Friendly local pub, with a good selection of beers. Seemed to be popular with both locals and visitors.

We enjoyed evening meals on two occasions during a June state to Wareham, Dorset. A friendly pub with generous and good quality meals. Recommended.

Stopped for lunch at this beautiful pub. Old pub with a lot of charm, and well decorated inside.. Baby changing was the best I have seen this year and very comfortable for baby :-) Had a delicious steak & onion baguette with chips. Very filling and at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back to try an evening meal.

Just had a holiday in this area and this place was within walking distance of our holiday home. The food was really good (particularly the steak and ale pie) and the beer just as good! The pub attracts the locals as well as holiday makers and is definitely worth a visit.

The first thing that you will notice on arrival during the summer months is the abundance of beautiful hanging baskets and flower pots.Tables and seating are available in the well kept garden area, and this makes a nice place to enjoy a drink or a meal on a nice day. Good service, friendly staff and nice food made this a pleasant lunchtime... More

Had a good selection of four real ales on draught, two of them local ones. Menu had good variety and the food was tasty with generous portions. The starter alone is enough for a light meal, a starter plus main would be difficult to finish unless you're really hungry. Service was friendly as was the cat.

Visited this evening and arrived before 6pm (start time for meals). However, we were welcomed and our orders taken. The food was delicious! It was very well presented and the portions were of a very good size. We all enjoyed our meals (4 of us) and would not hesitate in returning. Well worth the visit, good value and a very... More
