Christmas at the Plough

We decided to try something different this Christmas, so we looked for a pub that was doing food on Christmas food and would allow us to park our camper van for two/three nights. Hadnt been down to the Plough for several years but had a thurst after moving some boxes around and nipped in for a quick pint. Its still as it was 6 years ago but the beer was perfectly kept and the food looked good and plentiful. Friendly staff and locals. Mrs A sampled some left over roasts and said they... More

Lovely country pub in beautiful country side. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was served hot by capable staff but the meal itself was very poor. We were a group of people enjoying a meal out and felt very let down by the meal

Having been let down by our caravan booking, a quick phone call to The Plough and our problems were over, a place for us and caravan was found so we could go to the Fair!, The Great Dorset Steam Fair! The Landlord and all his staff made us very welcome. The food in restaurant conservatory was excellent and plentiful and... More

As a touring cycling group we have been to many pubs in our time, however The Plough has been the most welcoming and delightful of them all. Because of unfortunate circumstances, we found ourself stranded. But the plough welcomed us in with open arms, we ate, drank and stayed the night. Th food was delightful and well priced, the service... More

We have eaten at this pub several times and it has always been good food, service and value. On a nice day they have a lovely garden to sit in and enjoy the Dorset atmosphere...

We visit the plough every year whilst on holiday and this year was no different, and as usual we all enjoyed a well cooked and presented meal, I had a mixed grill and it was good, the kids meals were nice and none was left, the chicken breast was definitely the best of the meals that came out, (8 eating)... Brilliant little spot, stayed here 2 nights on our Motorhome tour of Dorset. Staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The pub has a great atmosphere, excellent live music and I am sure any visitor will feel happy vibes.

We went for a meal after a day out nice gammon steak and fish cakes portion size was large, and the larger was cold, very nice staff and relaxed atmosphere. Sitting in the conservatory on a summers evening with a cold pint and a full belly. Go and enjoy and read the local knowledge in the menu.

This is a rural retreat in a village with no shops and on a minor road but it is well worth tracking down for either a lunch-time meal or a evening bite to eat. We were greeted in a friendly manner by the landlord, John, and impressed by the range of real ales and non alcoholic beverages. His staff were... More
