I visited the Swan for lunch today with my mother. I ordered a cheese omlette, it seemed very little cheese was present as it couldn't be tasted. The salad with my meal was dry, served with no dressing and obviously unwashed as it contained considerable amounts of grit. After I drew this to the attention of the waitress, showing her... More

Typical town pub, looked promising for lunch when we read the menu outside but when we went inside it turned out that they had a new menu. No problem but the fish pie was unavailable. 3 of us ordered the "tankard of prawns" in anticipation of the good old British pint of prawns, usually a pint glass full of crevettes.... More

We did not intend to visit this pub, but our first choice was closed. It is a pub we do not intend to visit again in the near future. The menu was poor and the prices very high.A chicken breast in a bun with chips was almost £10. The service was abysmal. Half an hour after placing my order I... More

Had not been here for a couple of years, food was very poor, garden area full of weeds and dirty ashtrays. Service slow and when complained about food told they always get compliments.

I only popped in for a quick lunch with my youngest daughter, but really wish I hadn't. We shared fish and chips- easily the worst I have had for decades. Pub food has moved on incredibly but this was a triumph of tasteless disappointment over vaunted ambition. The new menu is well advertised- perhaps I ordered badly- but the fish... More

We went here, in a series of small groups, for a quick meal. The selection of food is poor. The whole front page of the menu, the subs, was off. Beyond that, there's a page of chicken dishes - with chips, a page of burgers - with chips, a page of hot dogs - with chips, and a page of... More

Went to The Swan Inn for lunch with my partner at the weekend and could not fault service or food extremely friendly staff. We go in for the amazing hot chocolate regularly always a friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend going to the best pub in sturminster newton.
