worth the visit

pub food of a very good standard with the added attraction of a variety of sensibly priced ales, we attended on a Tuesday night (quiz night) so had an excellent night - we may not have known the answers but had a great laugh. couldn't fault the service or hospitality and definitely a one we'll... read more

As a member of the gourmet society I telephoned the pub to book a table for lunch, per the GS instructions. The first time I called there was no answer and the 2nd time someone simply lifted the handset and put it straight back down again. Pretty poor service IMO. And all before we've even stepped through the door.

I've been meaning to stay here for years and we stayed last Friday for the night, it was blowing a gale and raining. The room itself was clean but they turn the radiators down so in mid winter you walk into a cold room. It would be nice when they know they have guests to turn the radiators on. The... More

Nothing to complain about, and why should there be? A pub which is obviously packed out in summer is a bit lost on a cold January day. Kebabs and chips went down very nicely. Quite a long waty down the road to Osmington Mills, but don't let that deter you. I was confused by the Car park, which seemed to... More

The Smugglers Inn is located at the end of Osmington Mills. It is part of the `public Highway leading to the Bay. Fantastic place for rock climbing and netting. The Pub itself is child and dog friendly and is now part of a franchise selling OK Pub like grub. Difficult to find a parking space in the very small car... More

We went here for a birthday meal early one evening. The pub is lovely in a great setting but the road down to it can be interesting in the dark. The food as excellent and reasonably priced. Service was a little hit and miss. The people were lovely but it seemed a little disorganised given it was very quiet. Our... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review we are always very pleased when our guests have a nice time with us. It can be a little time after the holiday season that a bit of focus is lost but we are just getting some training in and realigning the troops to get ready for when we start getting busy from... I have heard so much in a very positive manner about the Smuggler's Inn since moving to Dorset. We decided to visit as we had family staying with us during the Xmas period. Disappointed is an under statement. There was limited food on the menu, the service was terrible, poor staff, didn't check once on whether the meal was OK,... More

Just back from a special lunch with my guests at a pub I have long loved to visit. The food we eventually had was fine, indeed good, although the apple and plum crumble was far too dry and there was by no means enough custard served with it. But my main complaint is over the exceptionally bad service. You are... More

We were staying in the area for Christmas and having called in on Christmas Eve for a drink and looked at the menu we decided to book a table for Sunday 27th. When we arrived we were left standing by the wait here to be seated sign for some time despite there being 2 staff behind the bar doing nothing.... More
