We haven't been here for quite some time, but decided to take visitors last week on a nice sunny day. For starters I had the mushrooms and blue cheese and the other 3 shared a meze. I then had the duck confit, my wife had ham, egg & chips, while our visitors had the steak & ale pie and... read more

I visited here for a meal maybe 10 or 12 years ago, and was very pleased. Came back with dad recently and although it's a lovely pub, right by the coast, we found the menu and food somewhat mediocre. Not somewhere we'll rush back to, but may visit again if in the area.

My family of 5 had dinner here for around the price of a Harvester and we're very impressed. My daughter's Thai curry was home made and better that any pub curry and my Ribs and wings were awesome. I was tempted to drop a mark due to the puddings, as not a great choice and the sticky toffee pudding was... More

This is a really pretty pub near the seaside, with good ale and friendly staff but the food was sorely disappointing. Like most chain pubs they are trying to fit as many people in as possible and serve heated up food. Useful for families but not great for couples as it was packed with children.

Fantastic location in Smugglers Cove. Fantastic food and service also with a huge choice of beers. The stream has been 'renovated' and banks strengthened garden is excellent and plenty of areas for eating.

We love the position of this pub and have been back every time we holiday in Dorset, this time though we were slightly disappointed with the food. The menu had altered dramatically since our last visit and maybe not for the best. Service was quick and efficient, but the food was lack lustre in flavour and substance. Won't be in... More

During July 15, and probably into August much work is being done on the banks of the stream running past the Inn.Terraces are also being improved. As a result we ate inside. Good, if unimaginative, salads were served. Will be nicer once its complete.

Stayed one night at The Smuggler's Inn with my husband. The pub is a hidden gem slightly off the breaten track. The pub is set back from a beautiful cliff with spectacular views from adequate car park. Didn't eat our evening meal in the restaurant as had other plans however breakfast was delicious and such a wide choice including fresh... More

Beautiful location, varied menu, great food (never had a bad meal here). The staff are very attentive and polite. Beautiful to sit outside and snug and cosy when inclement weather forces you inside. I would have given The Smugglers 5 stars, but for the ladies loos, which looked a little scruffy and I had to queue behind two other people... More

This is a gem of a pub tucked away in Dorset. Right on the beach it offers a traditional old seaside pub with history from the days of smuggling. It has been done up however retains its character. Plenty of real ales on offer and the food is great. It has and extensive menu the food served is fresh, goos... More
