Great friendly pub

Amazing food, really helpful staff, and a five minute walk from our campsite! what else needs saying? well I haven't given it a 5 because its sometimes quite hard to get a table, unless you book in the morning or the day before, however this is purely because they are a good pub!, also the toilets... read more

Great setting you can't beat it, it's very busy due to its location and being the bank holiday weekend. We were a group of 12. Most people enjoyed the meal but a few dishes let it down. Overall it's worth a visit but don't expect exceptional food, I think it was just due to how busy it was and the... More

Walking SW Coast Path, stopped in for coffee / cake / whatever around 11am on a wet Sunday morning. Asked the guy at the bar if they have any cake, and get a very brusque "we're too busy in summer to do cake" ! There were a total of 7 people in the pub, and this was the attitude. Got... More

Well first the positives, this is set in a beautiful location right on the coast, which is a big part of it's appeal. We visited while on holiday, and it was a beautiful sunny day (one of few the week we were down), so we decided to go for Sunday lunch and maybe a walk along the coast after. We... More

Love returning to Smugglers whenever we are in Dorset, good food in a beautiful setting. Great walk behind the pub rounds off a nice meal.

the card reader! Clearly this pub is well positioned next to the camp site and therefore has a captive market. Whilst prices for drinks may be on the high side at least you can enjoy the surroundings BUT eating there is a different matter... They ran out of 2 main courses we wanted, the cod was clearly microwaved and then... More

Admittedly arriving sopping wet but well before before Sunday lunch just for a coffee (we would have had a cake...) to be greeted in an off hand manner and on the question of cakes the answer was "we're too busy in season to make cakes" was indicative. The coffee was good (thumbs up), directed to a table immediately followed by... More

This is a gem of a rambling but cosy Hall & Woodhouse pub with extensive outdoor seating. There is a small pay & display car park nearby, but the cost of parking can be redeemed at the pub, which is a nice touch. The menu is extensive and varied. We were a group of seven, each ordering different dishes, and... More

We visited the Smugglers on our recent visit to Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast. We a table for 8pm and planned to arrive early for a walk on the beach for a spot of light fossiling but the lashing rain and howling gale put paid to those plans. We found ourselves arriving much earlier than planned, expecting a long wait.... More
