My sister took our Mum, my 5yr old son and I here for a treat cream tea whilst staying with our Mum for a few days in Southwell. It is a lovely cafe/restaurant in a beautiful place. The cream teas were fresh and delicious, the scones were a little bit cake like but I really liked that, very different and... More

Stopped for a mid morning coffee and to take in in the lovely view …….view is beautiful…..coffee was really nice………..abundance of smokers bad,, I agree with some of the other reviewers that the smokers should be in one area and not all over the seating area…….we had to move tables …next to us were 4 smokers all puffing away madly………but... Stopped here on a massive walk around the island and had a cream tea. Absolutely brilliant. The staff were friendly and helpful, the scones were large and freshly made, the jam and cream were yummy and the pot of tea was mad with tea leaves, what more could you ask for? I guess my comments could be coloured by the... More

Totally agree with a previous comment about separating the non smokers from the non smokers. Didn't really enjoy my tobacco laced 99! Yes we could of said something to the offending smokers but since there were no obvious separation for us and them they weren't doing anything wrong and these days arguments are best prevented. Lovely spot and great views... More

Its just good to have a place on the top of the cliffs here serving food and drinks and nice seating. We only had cold drinks but people were enjoying delicious looking food all around us

Best home made scones I've tasted also served with loose leaf tea in a tea pot with extra hot water and tea strainer, how good tea used to be served. Have also visited there previously and had egg and chips, there chips are unique. Although I have not tried people say that their fresh crab sandwiches are special. You will... More

We visited The Lobster Pot whilst on holiday with our 2 teenage sons on a week day before the schools had broken up. We were very impressed by the fantastic efficient but not intrusive service we received and the value for money of our lunches - we all had a main course lunch and a drink and it was £41.... More

We visited Portland Bill while on holiday for two weeks in Dorset. The Lobster Pot is right next to the lighthouse so we thought we would give it a shot. We both had the scampi and chips, and it was best best meal we had during the whole two weeks. Only scampi and chips but cooked to perfection, scampi solid... More
