The restaurant looked full yet they managed to find us a table. And we were glad they did! There were some interesting choices on the menu including rabbit - but we stuck to relatively traditional and we were not disappointed. Poppadums were fresh and crisp. Naan was perfectly light and fresh and irresistible. Starters likewise and the mains were cooked... More

Lovely food as always. Service a little rushed - bit cattle market!! As a Friday night obviously wanted to turn tables over asap which was a bit of a shame. Four people, three course all inside 1.5 hours!!

I recently celebrated my 52nd birthday with my partner & two very good friends. We don't normally go out for meals, but decided that we would buck the trend. The Taj Mahal restaurant in Bridport came highly recommended, so we chose that venue for our birthday meal. Ok, so the food was tasty, served piping hot, and fairly promptly. The... More

As I have lived in West London and had some of the best curries you can get, the Taj Mahal is very good and nearly up there with some of the best curries I have eaten. The service is amazing and they are very accommodating, also take away is just as good as sitting in, only missing delivery service other... More

Helen loves to feed her customers and she does it so well. Curry is probably my favourite meal and I would say she produces the most luscious dishes you could ever want. We are so lucky to have her in our town.

Stopped by here on an evening whilst staying in Local West Bay. Got seated easily and quickly. Whole experience seemed quick. Food ordered and on table in what seemed like only 10 mins. Food was good (not the best Dansak I've ever had however plentiful) Lots of locals in and out ordering/picking up take aways. After looking at others this... More

This is everything you expect from a high street 'curry house' - albeit with the tiniest of twists - and very well executed. The nod to something different is the inclusion of rabbit on the menu - courtesy of the restaurant's appearing on one of local food hero Hugh Fairly-Longname's TV programmes. Otherwise it's pretty much what you get the... More

Coming from W.Yorkshire, this wasn't what we are used to. Curry houses have moved on a bit since this one was conceived. Don't expect anything like The Aagrah, Akhbars, Omars balti house, Bengal Brasserie or many others in Leeds and Bradford. The mixed kebab starter was decidedly dodgy and bore no resemblance to any similar class of starter I have... More

I was starving for "a good Indian," and Taj Mahal provided me with an outstanding meal. I can't remember what I had, but it was fresh, tasty, and smelled heavenly. A really great place for dinner.
