Either way, the service was attentive and we received a great welcome when we went in. Be prepared to wait for your food as it is going to be COOKED (there's... More

We had an evening meal here earlier in June. Excellent quality food, well cooked; attentive and friendly staff. We'll be back!

Called in for lunch to be greeted like royalty, not because it was quiet, it was not as it was market day, the bar tender gave the same warm welcome to everyone, locals and visitors alike. Food was worth the slight wait, 20 minutes, as everything is cooked to order. Good choice of local and international ales and lagers. Will... More

Lovely atmosphere. Terrific food. Good service. Overall a lovely experience. Bar very crowded but there you go it's that good. Even the locals who used growl at anyone seem to be smiling.

Since the refurbishment and under new management, we have enjoyed revisiting the George Hotel. Annette, Julian and staff welcoming and friendly. Food very good, have eaten twice this month (May) Lamb chump and the John Dory meals fantastic so good we swapped half way through meal so had the best of both worlds. Last night thoroughly enjoyed the whole plaice... More

Recently under new management, as well as receiving a huge (and well overdue) refurbishment, The George Hotel is a long established pub in the centre of Bridport. Having had a 'Lindon Boozer' feel to it in previous incarnations, the new refurb is more modern, with interesting nautical colours and even a few paintings of Moby Dick. With new owners and... More

We found this place after going to our booked restaurant who had messed up the booking... and found plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children in the 'snug', they moved talbes around for us and the room was ideal. This was sunday lunch time, so impressed to get in. As this was my twin sisters and my birthday... More

Incredibly well decorated with amazing attention to detail wherever you look!
