A pleasant surprise indeed. Visiting Woolacombe in mid October, my friends and I walking the SW Coastpath, were not expecting much in the way of decent food and beer but we got both at The Electric. It was Fish Thursday and my smoked eel salad was prefect, as was the John Dory fillets on puy lentils. A couple of pints... More

We didn't expect much from the external appearance. The bar entrance upstairs appears to be part of the same place but I'm told that it isn't . The bar/restaurant downstairs is a different kettle of fish. Despite the blue neon, the interior is comfortably modern and the food and service excellent. They were busy, and Thursday brings a fish centered... More

Food is always great at The Electric but the new Seafood Thursday night is fantastic. Mussels were great in a really tasty sauce followed by a very large Crab. Congratulations Andy for some real tasty quality cooking and Ed and Rob and the rest of the team for great service and ambiance.

Great looking bar and menu was promising. Unfortunately the reality was very average food. We ordered a mixture of pasta, pizza, burger and kids meals. The kids earls were minuscule and poor quality. The pastas bland, burger buns dry and overpriced. The pizza were the best option but again small for the price. I ordered a aioli side order for about... More

We ate here with our 2 children and found it to be excellent value for money. Kids under 10 eat free off the specified menu but we were only charged £1.25 for our 10 year olds carbonara. The food was lovely. My only gripe is that the burger and chips was literally that. No salad with it which was a... More

We ate here twice at lunchtimes over the weekend while staying in Ilfracombe, and really enjoyed both experiences. We had vegetable enchiladas which were very tasty, and two different pizzas which were also warmly welcomed by a very discerning diner. The prices are good for this quality of food - the only place in this category for hot food in... More

We've been to Woolacombe a few times now and not visited this bar before as it didn't seem very child friendly but after taking the plunge and visiting for drinks on our first evening here we decided to come back for an early dinner on another evening. The fact that children eat free when an adult dish is purchased is... More

The Tides Inn, which is upstairs from this dark bar is so much better for food, service, and atmosphere. Just around the corner on Beach Road.

Terrible food. The worst fish cakes I have ever had. Brown/grey, rubbery, tasted nothing like fish. Beef nachos were drowning in orange oil. The seafood pizza was covered in tinned tuna and had small prawns which still had their shells on. Worst meal of our trip to Devon.
