Popped in for a post surf drink, wouldn't want to risk food here. Sticky floors and an overall strange dirty smell about the place. Ok outside seating area but felt generally uncomfortable when visiting with our two children in tow.

We have visited Woolacombe 2 years running and had drinks at Captain Jacks. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and locals in the bar were chatty. Dogs are welcome and there is a relatively comfortable outdoor area. Might not be to everyone's taste as the decor is a little tired but the welcome makes up for this (in our... More

We had never eaten here before and were delighted as I have Coeliac disease and there was more than 1 gluten free option. The gf pizza was delicious! The staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble; great child friendly place.

Found this wonderful little place by chance. A fantastic coffee and tea behind the main bar. Lovely outside space and very friendly staff.

Suspected food would take a while as we were told it was all freshly cooked to order. Since there were very few people in we were prepared to wait. Over an hour later we were informed that the the burgers ordered had been dropped on the floor and they had no more! We were offered steaks as an alternative. We... More

We called in for a drink with our family including 2 children and found the atmosphere very welcoming, a lot of young people use this pub and are very friendly creating a good and lively feel, we always call in here when in Woolacombe and enjoy it every time, cannot comment on the food as we only had crisps etc... We went here twice during our three day holiday which tells you how much we liked it. It's a rustic style pub with some great decor. If you prefer modern and stylish bars (we like them too!) then this probably isn't the place for you. If you like a relaxed atmosphere with a great variety of music and some quirky... More
