Fantastic food (shame about the drink)

Dog friendly pub. We ate in the restaurant area. The food was utterly fantastic. (home made chips a bonus). The weather turned, so we planned to spend a few hours drinking in the cosy front bar. The Red Stipe tasted like mould. We changed to Rattler. That was mouldy tasting too. Two other couples... read more

Ate here yesterday evening as part of 2 couples away for the weekend. The 'eatery' is away at the back of the pub and had approx 20 people in it. We arrived at about 8.15pm and all fancied steak..... only 3 in the kitchen and all arrived practically still chewing grass and not medium as requested, staff dissapeared so could... More

Went with friends to celebrate 3 of us having birthdays in the last week. The staff were very welcoming when we were trying to book earlier in the day and during our meal. We took a menu away and rang in our choices and everything was really slick when we arrived. Portions were generous and the food was good quality... More

Nice pub but the theme is a bit touristy!! The pool table is good and its handy for the nightclub above.

Tuesday evening 14th April, having had dinner in the Red Barn, reviewed separately, we decided to have a drink at Captain Jack's as it looked like it had great character and looked like a pirate ship inside, great idea. We ordered drinks and sat at the bar and they came to £7.30 for the 2 drinks, slightly dearer than our... More

We regularly visit Captain Jacks for post surf drinks and usually pizza. We had some great pizza's there last year, but this year after heading there eagerly for more of the same we were served a soggy tortilla wrap, not round and not even covering a normal sized plate, with hot topping on it. The topping I had (goats cheese... More

We visited twice over a weekend. Staff are really lovely - very friendly and great with children. Really good quality home prepared food. We will definitely be back.

We were on holiday at Woolacombe in July and we enjoyed a couple of drinks here! It was a Saturday afternoon and bustling, however we managed to get served at the bar quite fast and we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Nice pub to have a drink and enjoy the sun.
