Excellent lunch

We ate here one cold Friday in February - we were looking for somewhere for lunch and luckily we found this place alongside the Bay Hotel. My husband and I decided to try the lunchtime menu. We were welcomed and promptly seated, our order was taken and drinks were brought to us. My order arrived. After several attempts at getting the attention of the 2 members of staff, we asked for my Husbands order to be chased as it had been 15 minutes by this time... More

As we had stayed at the Woolacombe Bay hotel we decided to eat here as part of the hotel, this restaurant stretches out further than your first think. We shared the seafood platter which was amazing, good tasty food, our main courses were just as good, especially loved the extras that came with the chilli. A small but good choice... More

There's not much choice in Woolacombe and the Brasserie is about the best. Food can be memorable but occasionally misses the mark and it is expensive. The menu doesn't change much so you won't want to eat there every night. Mains all good but can be a bit pretentious, steak properly cooked, cheese board was special. Pretty good wine list... More

We are local so have eaten here before. The food is good but prices have shot up. We were offered a choice of tables although I had booked so we sat in the annexe area which was rather soul less. Immediately we sat down we were asked if we were ready to order. We felt rushed and would have liked... More

I telephoned the Woolacombe Bay Hotel where I have stayed in the past, for suggestions on how to pass the day with a wheelchair, whilst the menfolk went out to sea on a boat at speed. Their excellent receptionist (Karen I think) sent us round to an easy entrance to their Spa for a head massage, and on to the... More

My daughter and I escaped for an 18th birthday treat after work. We enjoyed a lovely treatment in the Spa followed by an immaculate three courses in the Bay Brasserie. They were enjoying a busy service yet managed to find us a table, the waiters were most courteous and attentive. A complete pleasure.

The food was good and varied, the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was good. The décor was modern and casual. But dogs were allowed in the restaurant and I felt this let the whole ambience down, it is unnecessary to have dogs (unless guide dogs) in a restaurant. Unfortunately we were not aware of this until after... More
