The food was good and varied, the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was good. The décor was modern and casual. But dogs were allowed in the restaurant and I felt this let the whole ambience down, it is unnecessary to have dogs (unless guide dogs) in a restaurant. Unfortunately we were not aware of this until after... More

We ordered Cod Croyde Bay or some such title - For £16 we expected something substantial but when it arrived in a square plate it was anything but. The piece of cod was a rectangular piece maybe 4" x 2", it looked chunky enough until you discovered that it was mounted on the same size base of mash! - the... More

We sort of stumbled on the brasserie on the way to the beach. Thank god we did. Nicest coffee I've had in a seaside resort bar none. So we went back for a light lunch - very nice toasted sandwiches, handmade crisps, a very tasty and reasonably priced bottle of Montepulciano. And they welcomed my parents' dog too. So we... More

We went to the Bay for a celebratory Birthday meal ..... There were 12 of us and I have to say that we gad a great time. The staff looked after us very well, and our waiter Alex was particularly good with our dairy allergic 6 year old. Thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, food and a good time was had by... More

We booked a table here on our first night staying at the hotel. We arrived for our reservation 10 minutes early but could not be seated as the restaurant was too busy, although it was virtually empty! We checked the menu online before hand to check it catered for our fussy eaters, which it appeared to do so. The portion... More

We stayed at the WBH and the Bistro is attached to it. Food was good restaurant standard and I suspect the best you can get in Woolacombe. Service was first class, friendly and helpful. Gluten-free choices and advice was excellent. Good wine list.

We decided out of all the restaurants in the area that this one offered more than burgers and chips. I had the beef chilli and my wife the seafood platter. We were impressed with the quality overall and we left full and happy with our meals. The cocktails may have also played a part in that. Only reason it did... More

We stayed at The Woolacombe Bay Hotel for 5 days and visited here twice for evening meals, having tried a couple of other places and walked around the small town checking menus. Both times we were thoroughly impressed with the food and the setting. On our first visit the main course was delivered before the starter plates were fully cleared... More

Maybe I picked a bad day, but I was not impressed. Staff were more interested in schmoozing some customers to the detriment of others. Food was average and overpriced.
