Monday 27th October, had yet another lovely dinner, within the great atmosphere that this lovely little pub gives. We have eaten at the Exeter Inn for many a year and have never had a bad experience. The Landlord and waitresses are very helpful, friendly, efficient and always check if everything is ok with the meal, the chef can even come... More

A family meal for ten on a Monday night in October. The drinks were good and the place by the fire appreciated. The starters were ok. But then, first the tactical error of sending out the small people food last, always insensitive and uncomfortable. Service was very slow -almost ten minutes between first and last main courses. The steaks came... More

Loved the food ... barman was a bit tetchy, but meal and surroundings made up for it! Would definitely visit again.

This pet friendly inn was a real treat. My wife and I took our chocolate Labrador away for a well earned break. The accommodation was all we needed and clean on our arrival... We popped in to the inn for a couple of pints of Tarka lager and found everyone very welcoming. We decided to eat there that night and... More

We called at the Exeter Inn, as we had been told they had a lovely new restaurant menu As we opened the lounge/restaurant door , two snappy terriers ran to our feet, we then waited for at least five minutes before the landlord (we believe) came to serve us. We had no cash, just cards and asked if we could... More

We visit the area annually for golf and always visit this pub despite the cold reception from the landlord, it always seems that we are an inconvenience to him even though we spend a lot of money there (£300+ last visit). We are not rowdy or rude, but it seems as if he simply doesn't want us there. It is... More

Good food, excellent ciders. Local. Dogs allowed (all pubs should allow dogs in). Have eaten here many times, and never been disappointed. Car park a little awkward, but otherwise superb.

i have been frequenting this establishment for 15 years and the food, drinks and atmosphere are outstanding. However the real draw of this pub is the landlord... some say he's like a box a chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get. He is charming yet blunt, easy going yet stern but he always provides a top class service... More

We visit the Exeter Inn on a very regular basis when in this glorious part of Devon. The owners and staff are always very friendly and accommodating. The food is lovely and interior and exterior of the building is very quaint and characterful. The locals are friendly and always very entertaining. It must be visited if your in the area.

attached to the inn highways is a small self catering unit. accommodation is basic but comfortable. If you want peace and tranquillity then this is a wonderful area to stay. There are very pleasant walks right on the door step, and lots of other places to visit within 1/2 hr drive. We ate in the pub most evenings and all... More
