I'm not one for reviews but feel compelled to do so. I quite often work in Bampton, so thought I'd give Exeter Inn a try for a meal with my wife and daughter, the staff were really nice, but the food was dire! We had salad with the starters and main, but it was only dry lettuce, nothing extra whatsoever,... More

A change of ownership has resulted in a definite improvement in cleanliness surprising what a tin of paint can do! Unfortunately the door to the kitchen has not been painted. Bar staff friendly and helpful. The meal we had was good value and service was good. The menu is the same as the previous restricted menu so still missing the... More

We were visiting family for a few days over half term and popped in here for lunch with the kids, the staff were very friendly and the food was great four empty plates! We then decided to come back in the evening for dinner too! (Leaving kids at home with grandparents!) we had a amazing dinner two! Thanks! Would highly... More

My husband and I were travelling to Exmoor and stopped for lunch. The service was pretty poor and although there were plenty of vegetables the meat portions were wanting. Beer and wine ok and would visit again because it is a convenient stopover for lunch

There was 9 of us for supper unfortunately 2 of the meals were disappointing for their recipients. Plenty of vegetables and the Chilean Merlot is good!

Visited this 'carvery' for Sunday lunch and it was barely adequate. The meat wasn't bad, but the 'roast' potatoes were dreadful, frozen roast potatoes given five minutes in the oven, watery veg and no option to go up for more meat. The crowning disaster was the hot bisto offered to drench this pathetic offering. Don't go there.

There is plenty of parking but you have to be alert to it as this inn is at a road junction. We had coffee and cheesecake. The cheesecake was delicious and worth the price. Served with a smile and politeness. Just what we wanted.

Although the pub was as good as ever with a great selection of real ales, the food was not as good as it had been in previous years. Prices are similar to other years, which is just as well or I would have rated it lower. There is an adequate amount of parking and the toilets are clean.

Was out for a bike ride with my girlfriend when we decided to stop here for a quick refresher. As a biker i dont travel with a wallet only a card to pay for drinks fuel etc. Ordered a couple of drinks which came to just short of £4. To be told by the barman that we would have to... More
