Well Worth a Visit

We were staying nearby this lovely market town and we had heard very good reviews of this tea shop so decided to pay a visit. We weren't disappointed. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted and shown to a table despite the tea rooms being virtually full...always a good sign. Despite it being... read more

I come here often especially when I'm in the mood for a scone! They make amazing fresh scones and beautiful cakes, it's always a treat to come here.

Stopping nearby at Millbrook. The owners had recommended we visit this Tea Shop and we were very pleased. We ended up visiting twice. Thursday was absolutely full to the door and we had a slight wait for a table. The food was cooked fresh to order and was very tasty. The second visit was a little quieter but the food... More

We went in for a late lunch on a Thursday, although it had been busy and a couple of things were off the menu, the food we had was really good. Excellent attentive service. Huge portion of amazing cake. Fresh large salad with cheese on toast. Great.Highly recommend this tea shop. And really like the opening hours, all day every... More

I went for breakfast here today and was rather disappointed. Well actually shocked. Having been here a number of times before it seems that standards are slowly dropping. The last time I partook their Carrot cake, formally the best carrot cake in the world, had dropped to only good (but probably is only really now acceptable). The breakfast.......The sausages were... A return visit to an old favourite from some years past. Really pleased to say that it is as good as I remembered. Well filled sandwiches, fresh scones and wonderful cakes. Good varieties of loose leaf teas, all very clean and tidy. A gem of a place to eat.

We were recommended the Corn Dolly Tea Shop when we stayed locally for a holiday but unfortunately had never been able to try it out as three or four years ago they wouldn't accept dogs even in the garden. This time we left the dog with sitters as we were in Devon for a wedding and were surprised to see... More
