Very nice food and service. A little dated but maybe that's the charm of it. We had a lovely sunday lunch. Plenty of food. Very good service and didn't have to wait long. Desserts were delicious. Would go again.

Been here twice now when we are on holiday in Devon. May is the best time as they usually have lamb shank in the menu (seasonal) Proper local pub with home cooked food.

Early Monday evening, difficulty finding a table for two. ..... must be a good sign. We received a warm, friendly welcome and were quickly accommodated. We sat outside on a lovely North Devon evening and enjoyed some excellent ale whilst waiting for our ordered food. When this arrived we were not disappointed. Both meals were also excellent and could not... More

Great menu and large specials board, food fresh, tasty and well presented. Suggest you book as it has a very popular restaurant.

Didn't eat but stopped for a few drinks. Very lovely and nice enough to be sat outside , which could have been much prettier for a lick of paint or wood stain. Staff popping in and out collecting glasses etc, all very nice and pleasant. Food coming out looked average and heard some comments that nice but didn't think home... More

Lovely village pub, a little small & had to return a few times in different evenings before we could get a table but the food was worth waiting for. Lacked atmosphere but was ok. Would definately go again, especially next week when it will be quieter!

Have just returned from 2 weeks in Woolacombe and ate and drank here several times. Brilliantly accommodated a party of 16 on Bank Holiday Sunday evening and there was not a scrap left. Beautiful roast, plaice, lamb stew and great beer and lager. On another occasiobn served after 9pm which was last orders and lovely pigeon and and hake. Meals... More

Been a few times, fab as a daytime visit where you can sit outside with lovely views. Inside, I found it lacks atmosphere and there was a feeling of being hurried due to large numbers of people requiring tables when there are not many to be had. Found the food rather over-rated; the plain burger seemed to have some kind... More

we were camping in a nearby site and stumbled across this beautiful pub by chance. as we were travelling with our dog we were worried that we couldn't be served, but is a dog friendly pub with water bowls too. lovely secluded beer garden, stunningly clean inside and the food was gorgeous...highly recommneded :-))
