Came for lunch with my sister, dad and neice. Was kept waiting at the bar, without so much as a 'be with you in a minute' from the one bar staff serving. Ordered food, which arrived an hour later (we only ordered ciabattas and chips!), which we couldn't understand, as there was only us and four others eating. I had... More

For £9.99 you expect to receive a decent meal and what the picture displays, which to my utter disappointment was not what I received. Half of it seemed to be missing. Portion size is the only problem I have with this pub. Oh and the other day when you couldn't take anymore food orders due to technical difficulties it would... More

Been here several times with work mates on a fri or sat night for drinks before heading on to somewhere else. Always seems a popular busy place. Not eaten here so can't comment on the food.

having visited the clipper over the years, liked the management, the carvery and the efficient delivery and customer service . We popped in today for lunch en route to Somerset for a quick Lunch , we ordered 4 basic meals i.e. chicken chips and salad , the bar person struggled to take our drinks order initially and then we waited... Had a lovely meal here. Prices were very reasonable and food was really nice. Portions were reasonable. Staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend

having been several times to the clipper, today 19th April 2014, i have found it very poor having to wait 50 minutes from ordering my meal to it arriving at the table, i would have to give it a second thought as to going back again, very dissapointing.

We regulary go to this pub and lately it has been going down hill which is a shame as used to be excellent. The wait for food to come out can be over an hour even on days that dont have many people in. If the wait wasnt bad enough they then miss parts of the meal out. I ordered... More

After working our way back from Nottingham to Sidmouth from picking up our Camper, we decoded to Wild Camp on the Sea Front. What shall we do for tea?-we decided on Fish n Chips. Parked up outside the Clipper and spotted the price "Two Meals for £7.45" WOW cheaper than a take away supper. MMMmmmmm me thinks wont be great.... More

We arrived here after being unfed and ignored by the Railway Carriage Café on the seafront (see my other review for more on that!). We weren't expecting wonders from a chain pub late on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of Winter, we were simply starving. What a delight to find an efficient bar manager, friendly and attentive staff, cheap... More
