We were too late to order from the lunch menu but were offered sandwiches, we were surprised to find they were really good. Had a nice lunch and beer

we come here whenever we are in North Devon, about 3 times a year, and the food , like the pub itself , is spot on in a pleasantly understated way. Serious cooking skills without the gastro pub glitz, whilst not cheap, you can taste their investment in great ingredients rather than what some may consider an overdue redecoration. Personally... Nothing fancy, just a village boozer in Parracombe run by a friendly young couple but where the food is a notch up on what you might expect from such a place. Good value too.

Very decent chalk board menu with lots of local ingredients. Some decent ales on tap and a nice range of single malts. A little let down by sloppy service, we persevered and enjoyed our meal but others got bored with waiting and walked out...

Husband and I passed this pub around lunchtime one day, and thought it might be a good place for an evening meal. I went in to give it a once-over. The entrance hall was rather shabby, and I nearly came away, but ventured into the bar area and found that it was a very nice, unpretentious, country pub. They have... More
