Anyone on holiday in north Exmoor, eg Lynmouth and around, I can happily recommend the Fox and Goose in the village of Parracombe. Doesn't look much from the outside, but inside is a cosy and friendly typical Exmoor pub/restaurant - lots of antlers on show etc. But the food and service was well above average, and above our expectations (family... Nothing fancy, just a village boozer in Parracombe run by a friendly young couple but where the food is a notch up on what you might expect from such a place. Good value too.

Very decent chalk board menu with lots of local ingredients. Some decent ales on tap and a nice range of single malts. A little let down by sloppy service, we persevered and enjoyed our meal but others got bored with waiting and walked out...

Husband and I passed this pub around lunchtime one day, and thought it might be a good place for an evening meal. I went in to give it a once-over. The entrance hall was rather shabby, and I nearly came away, but ventured into the bar area and found that it was a very nice, unpretentious, country pub. They have... More

We enjoyed two evening meals at this pub, the food is really excellent. The fish was cooked beautifully and the vegetables were very fresh and tasty. The puddings are home made and delicious accompanied by generous amounts of clotted cream. Service was friendly and attentive we would recommend this pub without hesitation.

My title says it all! Iwas very impressed with this pub. The food was tasty and the land lady was very friendly. This place should come out on top of all the rankings for combe Martin.

Loved the food and warm friendly atmosphere. We turned up late but were fit in despite no reservation. Would return again!

Weekend visit and found this little pub with lots of character food was excellent had to order from the bar. Decor is not plush but a typical pub with stuffed animals and dear horns on the walls , but as I said has a lot of character. We ordered steak and the rest of the party had their pie which... More
