Some of these reviews suggest they're made up. The ambience is good, service fine, food edible and correctly priced. And piping hot. Place looks clean and staff are helpful and smile. I'll keep going back for more.

It angers me so much that people still expect a fish and chip meal to be cheap. I challenge anyone to go to there local supermarket and buy a pice of fresh cod ( 6-8 oz) and get any change from a fiver. Yet at the average price of £4.00 I prob spend 5hrs a week cutting and de boning... More

I live in Dawlish and have tried all the fish n chip shops in the town. Have gradually changed preference. The most recent over the last few years has been Rock n Sole. We liked it at first, but now think it is not good, is expensive and won't be likelt to go there again.

I have had fishcakes in almost every little city I passed through in the UK and this is by far the best so far. I would recommend skipping the fries altogether and just buy two fishcakes and a beer...there lunch, done.

In the future I will be going elsewhere for dinner. The chips are soggy and very, very greasy. Our meals were picked at by three very hungry customers but we dumped most of what we bought in the bin as it was horrible. Ended up going to the Co-op supermarket to feed the kids in the end as they refused... More

We asked a local as we were visiting Dawlish last year where the best chippy was and they told us about this place. We were impressed and visited it a few times over our stay. This year we tried it early on in our stay and visited it twice, yes, just as good as last year - lovely!! Not greasy... More

My local chippy but by far and away the best one in and around Dawlish. Portions are good sizes, prices are great and more importantly the food is great quality. in all of the years I have lived here we have never had anything to complain about. Get down there today!

Not sure what the other reviews are about but this fish and chip shop has to be one of the cleanest takeaways I have ever been in. The two gentlemen serving were helpful and patient with my grandfather who was placing the order. There were plenty of chips and the fish could be sliced through and "melted" as it was... More

If people are going to write lies about my business they should have to put contact details so I can take legal action against them. Seams people can write what they choose with no consequences. It's just not fair on businesses.

We stopped here with our girls to eat our dinner. Asked for wooden forks and shouted reply was" Its over there cant you see. "Asked to buy ketchup and the girl sighed like it was so much trouble. When leaving we cleared our rubbish on table asked where bin was and reply was "0ver there cant you see" in a... More

We are very sorry for your bad experience. If possible, please tell us if there is a problem before Tripadvisor so that we can... More
