My girlfriend and I decided to eat here on the final night of a long weekend away to Devon following a family party. Upon our arrival we were met with a smile on arrival, as our table wasn't ready just yet we took a seat in the charmingly rustic reception, warmed ourselves by the raging fire and were brought a... This was our first and last visit to this restaurant for which we had high expectations. The setting and the service from the staff could not be faulted. However the lunch was disappointing in the fact that the pork served up was mainly fat and the food was only lukewarm that we had to request it be sent back. When... More

Wonderful lobby and in fine weather a charming d area with views of the 2 bridges that give the place its name. Great in either location for their tea, scones, jam and clotted cream. Everyone is coming in from hiking on the Moors and excited to sit by the fireplaces with their dogs and tea. Swans dominate the outside scene... More

Locally sourced, well cooked, high quality food and well presented. Second time around at this establishment and on this occasion better than the last - well worth it for a Dartmoor restaurant and worth the trip.

My husband and I stayed and ate here for our anniversary. The starters promised much and the Brixham crab ravioli was delicious if minuscule. The main course was a different story. The risotto was under cooked and gritty. This was sent back to the kitchen with the promise that chef would take care of my main course himself. The second... More

We were driving past and the delightful location just cried out STOP. We were warmly welcomed in, dog and all. They even had a towel available to dry off the mutt and a bowl of waster. Beautiful lounge area, warming log fire, loads of brightly polished brass, just wonderful. We had their cream tea for two and after that we... More

The hotel is set on Dartmoor and the scenery is beautiful. We stopped there for lunch. The weather was good enough to allow us to eat outdoors. We had open sandwiches. These were well-filled and reasonably priced. A local beer enabled us to slake our thirst. The staff were pleasant and service was prompt. We would go again if we... More

We stopped here on Good Friday for lunch. It took over 5 minutes for a member of staff to find us a menu. The queue to order drinks and food was 10 deep, which with only 1 person serving for the majority of the time took another 20 minutes. This wasn't helped by only having 1 till to use. The... More

We drove quite some distance to have lunch here only to find that the restaurant was closed to us due to a wedding. However we found an excellent table by the window. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was delicious. This is not the first time we have been unable to get into the restaurant,... More

We were halfway across Dartmoor and decided to stop for a light lunch. When we realised how busy it was in the car park we entered the hotel in trepidation as we thought we would be queuing. Wrong! we were served straight away in front of a fireplace with glowing log embers. We had ordered one soup and roll a... More
