learn how to make scones and serve them

Went there yesterday with a friend, with a view to staying on another occasion Wont bother stale bread like scones and no spoons for jam or cream; the main bone of contention £8.25 each for a rubbish cream tea If I were an overseas visitor I would rate the cream tea on thier version! My girlfriend and I walked into this pub after hearing about it from friends in Plymouth. After a 40 minute drive we arrived and thought we would pop in for a drink. Before we even got to the bar we got approached by an elderly gentleman who told us we were not able to stay as walkers and hunters would... More

Please accept my apologies that you felt unwelcome at The Two Bridges. While we did put signs out to say the hotel was closed to non-residents, I fully appreciate that this is of little help to anyone who has travelled specifically to enjoy a visit to The Two Bridges. We had a full hotel with guests staying over three days... More

Oh dear; we seem to have got things drastically wrong on this occasion and I am really sorry. We have reviewed how we warm up the scones and why there was a lapse in service on this occasion and I am confident we have put it right. Our hotel and restaurant reviews remain consistently good so we will be able... More

Great food, passionate chefs, great service with a great wine list too. Lovely meals, had a special Wine Gourmet evening with great wines and matched to the amazing food. Chef Mike Palmer and wine supplier, Charles Steevenson, collaborated to put together a sumptuous and flavourful meal/wine experience. Stayed overnight and had great breakfasts too.

Thanks for the kind Review. Charles did a great job explaining and enthusing over the wines and I am pleased you enjoyed the whole event. We look forward to seeing you on a return visit. Barry More

This is the first time of visiting Tors Restaurant and it certainly will not be the last. I will be in the area very soon and intend lunching there again. The food was excellent and the service and staff of very high standard. Compliments to the Chef and all. Rachelle G

Rainy day on Dartmoor but a very nice light lunch for the two of us with a pint of cider for me and coffee for her under £30 and fresh water bought for the dogs, a nice touch.Comfortable chairs, and nice service as well. So recommended. Will probably try a full evening meal next time on a lovely sunny evening on... More

Had lunch today in the restaurant. Service very slow, portions were minute and the food was average. Very disappointing. Had been there six months earlier for a cream tea which was excellent and could not believe it today as there were only 11 guests including ourselves, for lunch? We had to order our drinks at the bar, carry them through... More

As the name suggests, this is right beside the lovely Two Bridges. A beautiful old world hotel where we stopped for afternoon tea. There is ample parking and easy access into the hotel, immediately inside orders are placed at the bar and then delivered to your table, you are given a wooden spoon with a number to identify your order... Well it was all a disaster from the beginning, but staff did do all they could to put things right. First of all people jumped on the reserved table that was reserved for us, so we had to wait around for a table. The meal was only warm, but my mate got is warmed up. Coffee order got delayed. But... We had lunch there on Father's Day (Sunday 15 June 2014). It was meant to be a special family occasion but it was not good. The staff are fine but the food was really poor. The Prawn cocktail starter was quite good but then everything went downhill. The main course roast lamb was terrible - very little meat and a... More
