Great pub

Lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome. We ate the Ploughmans and cheesy chips, both were delicious with good portions.

A proper pub that serves good food and beer and there is always a warm welcome. We often visit when out for a drive[a pair of pensioners]for some lunch. Pies are delicious and ploughmans most enjoyable, washed down with a guest beer what more could we want? Don't miss if in the area.

We were travelling through the Moors after a respite break in Devon . What a fantastic pub , both the landlady and the lady-on-the-bar were welcoming and even reassured me that when I ordered my vegetarian lunch it was genuinely vegetarian ( which is a godsend ) The canelloni was good and the ale was kept beautifully . We were... More

We were staying at the local barns and needed somewhere warm to eat, we were directed to this pub that was the best of the local selection. We were not disappointed. Great food, really good selection of ales; if only pubs still did lock ins.

I often go to this pub for food and usually have their special rabbit pie. Today I fancied a Ploughmans, it was huge and really lovely. Warm fire roaring, great views and walks outside, good selection of drinks and also welcomes doggies. Lovely day

It gets 5 stars because it does what it says on the tin. A friend and I called by for food after most other places stopped serving, I had a steak and ale pie and it is probably the best I've ever had, really impressed. Friendly staff were helpful and the food was made in good time. Sat by the... More

We ate here on New Year's Eve having reserved a table through Janet before hand . She was very accommodating and responding to our e mails very quickly . It was a lovely touch by her to leave my wife a birthday card and birthday confetti on the table as I had mentioned in an e mail that was what... More
