Good food

Arrived about 1800 after a long 12 hr day and was greeted with a smile and a very warm welcome. The food was excellent home made and plenty of it. I will use this pub again when I am in this area. And wow, just had my breakfast put on the table ...... Lost for words ..... Amazing.

Called in for Sunday lunch we were faced with a large crowd of locals who obviously were enjoying a Sunday beverage or two, after being shown a table we were served an oversized Sunday lunch which had obviously been blitzed in the microwave, too much tasteless and not good at all will defo not retum

I am so sorry you did not have a good experience here. All the meat and veg are local and I normally get a very good response. I agree that the portion size is large and that is because I allow enough for each person to have a selection of every veg. Of course, most people do not have everything... More

Very friendly staff at The Malt Scoop. Gigantic portions of great food. Went twice over two nights as staying at local B & B. Every course was served so hot as I think it really is cooked to order. Fantastic atmosphere too.

Fantastic food from a varied menu. Huge portions and very tasty. We lunched here twice during our 3rd stay in Devon and weren't disappointed. Burgers are homemade and come in choice of sizes. Would highly recommend a visit to eat.

The Malt Scoop Inn located in a small village of Merton just outside Okehampton. They recently have started B&B and have two lovely appointed rooms. Stayed there for three nights last week with my wife. Rooms are beautiful, staff and locals very friendly, and the food is outstanding - but beware - they do like to fill you up -... More

We stopped off here for a bite to eat after visiting Lydford Gorge and on our way back to our holiday cottage. We'd had a quick look on Tripadvisor and saw this had good reviews, so thought we'd give it a go! On arrival we had a very warm welcome from the bar girl who was very chatty and friendly.... More
