Having found this friendly place and had lunch we decided we would return to try out their breakfast and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent quality and beautifully presented but it is the warm friendly welcome from all the staff in the café and shop which makes this a place you feel compelled to return to again and again,... We visited Holne and the tearooms as they were recommended in the "Wild Guide" book. The atmosphere in the tearooms was nice and the service was excellent. Our dog was allowed in and was given some gravy bones which were obviously enjoyed! The cream tea was good (although the scone a little bit floury) and the earl grey tea refreshing.... More

This is a lovely little find. I'm a local and it lovely to have a walk on the moor and pop in here for tea and cake or something more nourishing. Its run by the locals, I think on a voluntary basis which I think is admirable. The shop is attached and great too.

Popped in for cream teas during a recent visit to the area. What a delightful place! The staff were really friendly, and we all enjoyed our food. The scones had been warmed in the oven - yum! It was good to have the option of a mini cream tea (one scone) if a full size cream tea (two scones) was... More

Found this tea room by accident whilst looking for a village shop to buy milk, as previous reviewers have stated this is a community run cafe / shop, we were a little wary as some community run projects can be a bit amateurish, however what a surprise a large menu which covered not only the usual tea shop fare but... It is good to find a small convenience shop in a small village, all the most useful requirements. With the added attraction of the tea rooms, may it have every success.

Out exploring the Dart today we saw a sign for the Community Cafe in Holne - open 11-5. Not one to miss out on cake and tea, we diverted through Holne (which turns out to be a very pretty little village) on the way back and had a lovely home-baked chocolate cake and coffee & walnut cake. The staff were... More

Went here after a big walk on the moor, and had a delicious cream tea with home made cakes and clotted cream. Pure Devon!
