Great cream tea

We stopped in here for tea after a tough day's walking from Ivybridge as the pub we were due to stay at overnight was not yet open. Very glad that we did as the cream tea was excellent with very friendly service. A real little gem of its type!

We were passing through Holne on the Two Moors Way and discovered this fantastic little shop. It sells all the basics and lots of delicious local goodies too. A pity we were backpacking and couldn't carry more with us! The (volunteer) staff were really friendly. Definitely a 'must' if you're in the area!

I went to see Simon as I had not seen him for 9 years since we worked together elsewhere. It was great to see him and see that his passion for good food and customer service was still forefront in his possitive attitude to all that he does. The home made cake was FANTASTIC and the kitchen, dining area and... More

We visited the Tea Rooms following a recommendation from a friend. We planned our cycle route around it and it was certainly well worth it. The cakes were freshly made and delicious. The portions were huge! The coffee was just what we needed. The staff were very friendly and genuinely interested in our adventures across the moor. We will definitely... More

We had a cream tea there which was delicious and not expensive, the shop was also well stocked for such a small village. All staff were very polite and helpful, certainly worth a visit

A welcome good brew and refreshing golden Madeira cake really enhanced a golden sunshine walk from Buckfast Abbey. A must revisit. Muddy Boots Welcome!

We try to get up to the moors for a walk most weekends and after discovering Holne Village Tea Rooms, we always end up there, either for a lovely pot of coffee or maybe a bowl of soup. Dog friendly, grubby welly boot friendly - what more could you ask for. Food is good home cooking and always delicious. Nice... More

Our Broadband went down -- not the best thing to happen to an online communications business in the run-up to the Christmas break. But the wi-fi at Holne Village Shop and Tearoom came to our rescue, as too did Simon's stupendous all-day breakfast and friendly smiling welcome. Our graphic designer sipped second and then third cups of coffee contentedly as... More

Having found this friendly place and had lunch we decided we would return to try out their breakfast and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent quality and beautifully presented but it is the warm friendly welcome from all the staff in the café and shop which makes this a place you feel compelled to return to again and again,... We visited Holne and the tearooms as they were recommended in the "Wild Guide" book. The atmosphere in the tearooms was nice and the service was excellent. Our dog was allowed in and was given some gravy bones which were obviously enjoyed! The cream tea was good (although the scone a little bit floury) and the earl grey tea refreshing.... More
