We go down to stay in the Chudleigh area every so often and had been to this pub once before when it was under different ownership. It's a very nice little pub and there was a good atmosphere on the evening we were there...a quiz night. Mostly locals of course but we decided to join in and it was good... More

Within easy reach of the Farnborough Hose B & B, we were pleasantly surprised with the range and quality of food offered. The staff were very friendly and we just had to go back for a second time. Highly recommended!

We recently visited this gorgeous little pub for the second time having lived in Exeter all our lives we were really pleased to finally find a family/dog friendly place with live music, a great play area and a really friendly atmosphere. The first time we visited was last Saturday, we sat in the garden with the children and although the... More

I am pleased with your good comments about the Pub. You KNEW this was going to encourage a response. My 'BIG PUB', not 'little pub', is, I hope, all the good things you say. Regarding the burgers, I can't say I've tried cardboard to compare. Our burgers are very well received, being the biggest selling item we serve (over 300... More

We liked the menu and I had a cracking curry , beer was good and great garden for kids to play in . Wouldn't recommend walking to farmbrough house though as roads very thin.

The landlord and landlady always greet us and make us feel welcome. We had a girls nite out tonite for the circuits crew, the food and waiter service from Dan and co was really good, the meal took a while to come out but was cooked fresh and worth the wait. A lovely place for a drink or a meal... More

A drop in visit on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Sunday lunch was being served late, and once ordered, this arrived quickly, so must have been a reheated dinner (just my opinion). It was edible and nice enough; lovely pub/restaurant and looks like its popular. We once went the once but considered a return visit if we needed to in... More

Popped in for an early dinner while on a stop over in the area. The food was great and the service was spot on.

We stopped at the Highwaymans on our journey home from Bristol Airport. Even though it was raining, it was lovely to see a building with character and a history behind it. As we walked into pub, it had a lovely cosy feeling to it. This pub/ restaurant is not local to us, so we were impressed by the surroundings and... More

We're lucky enough to find ourselves in Devon again, although much further South than last time. Following two fantastic meals here in June we decided to drive the hour it would take to get here for Sunday lunch. Despite having very high expectations they were met and exceeded again, definitely worth the drive - we will be back!!!!

We enjoyed a family evening 3 course meal here. Each of our courses were both well presented and tasty. The pub itself is traditional, with a warm welcome and lovely log fire. It was quite quiet on our evening, but i felt the service would have been the same on a busier night. We would definitely return.
